This was awesome man and you speak well. I'm a dev who has never touched this sort of stuff but you've introduced every concept well and with enough context that I completely got it. So well done, loved this.

I have been waiting for this game for a long time, it was worth the wait. I always like to see people actually explaining how things work like this.

finally someone who can give good information on reversing - its hard asf to find info to get started

Hey mate, great presentation, given your experience with programming / modding ratchet and clank, do you think it will ever be possible for either the original R&C or the HD collection to be decompiled for a native PC port to be made, similar to what has happened to the Jak and Daxter series?
@bordplate.Ай бұрын
Nothing is impossible, but it's a lot harder to do for the Ratchet games than for the Jak games. Naughty Dog used a custom programming language for a lot of Jak that left extra data in the game code that aided them in decompiling. The Ratchet games are mainly compiled from C and we've never recovered any debugging data for the Ratchet trilogy, so there'd have to be a lot more manual work involved. It'd be cool to have, but for the most part there's nothing we can't make for it now that we could've made for a decompiled version. So I'd rather spend time making stuff, than spend a lot of time on decompiling, if that makes sense.
