Thanks Vee, those books look like they are great value. Alena certainly knows how to draw dreamy looking women. I so understand your comments about greyscale pictures, but for me there is a plus to them; the artwork is in grey & disappears into the background as you colour. If more line art was available in grey as well as black I would be delighted. Of course there are fixes for this, but sometimes you don't want the hassle. Your octopus girl is lovely!

Thanks Jude ! I will try to find our what works the best for me on greyscale. There are a few colorists who are using markers or watercolors even (in a Molly Harrison book) and since it gives your pages that lovely sound I'm tempted to dive in with those materials 😁

I find greyscale difficult to color because it can be difficult to distinguish details in the shadows, which I find frustrating. The darker the greyscale the more difficult I find it. Plus, finished greyscale seems darker to me than finished line art. Needless to say, I prefer line art. These are just my opinions according to my experiences.

I prefer line art too. But since I've never ever tried greyscale before it's worth to give it a try. Especially since Alena's artwork is so stunning.
