I like the dot system you use. I measure similarly but do not actually add the dots (finger measures). Usually I work in pencil first. I think that your system would be soooo much better than my way.

Can you sketch from imagination? What book would you recommend for beginners?

Thank you for sharing your process. I'm curious though, do you ever turn the paper? I know that for most people, it's easier to draw certain lines in certain directions. Has it been your experience? I know that the YT video tutorial format can feel a bit limiting, so I wonder if it's a part of your practice that just didn't make it here, or something that didn't work for you at all.

I use a divider, or proportional divider, all the time. It might be cheating, but it's better than tracing or projecting.
@katsmith8263Күн бұрын
What is proportional divider?
@shekitahackett6787Күн бұрын
@@katsmith8263its a tool that shows height and width. Check out youtube for instructional videos.
@SketchingScottieКүн бұрын
I don't think it's cheating, glad it works for you! Measuring with fingers is good for what I'm doing here with loose sketching. Your tool would be more accurate though 👍🏼

I am interested in joining your Pateron. But I need to know one thing do you skip forward , it's called jump cutting, on those tutorials on pateron? It is very uncomfortable to watch. Hard to follow.
@SketchingScottieКүн бұрын
That's the main advantage of Patreon. You get the full versions without the big jump cuts. There is naturally some editing but on a whole it's the full realtime process. This tutorial is 89 mins long on Patreon 👍🏼
