I'm from Mexico City. I played this to one of my employees, he barely speaks Spanish, he's from Oaxaca and speaks a dialect (Chinanteco). He loved it. He said he had the desire to sing along but he didn't knew the words. I've heard him whistle the melody. He's in love with it.

Chinanteco is a language, not a dialect.

The one down vote must have been made by the most uninteresting person alive. Seriously if this song doesn't make you want to do a diddy you are awful.

I think it's public domain. It's an Indian song, and I don't think that we know much about who originally wrote it.

This song was written by (New Orleans') Danny Barker back in the 1940's as a (New Orleans) mardi gras Indian song, Google it! ⚜️⚜️⚜️

The cover of this song (Tootie ma) sounds horrible in comparison to the original by Danny Barker, sheesh! 😖
