It really tears my heart apart to have this kind of relationship between the 2 nations. I am who I am today because of the US. The opportunities I have today is because of China

It's a combination of the *Red Scare* (fear of communism) and the *Yellow Peril* (fear of Asians overrunning the West) mindset that's fueling anti-China sentiment in Australia today. Since the 19th century, many have become so throughly accustomed to the notion of Western dominance, so much such that the very thought of a *non-Western, non-liberal democratic* country like China eventually surpassing the United States someday in the foreseeable future, is simply too frightening for many to fathom.

Spending trillions in infrastructure may sound good but the difference between US and China infrastructure spending (in trillions) is that China is planning long term (and now reap its reward, not just roads but rails, bullet trains, airports, etc) whereas US spending is rush with no proper long term planning. It wouldn't surprise me, say, 5 years or 10 years down the road, you won't see much result on what's being spent on. Probably fixing potholes here and there with each cost millions. So little details on how the money is going to be spent on. Is it for building more highway? Is it to create new rail line (fast trains?) Or is it to fix existing rail and airport infrastructure that have been neglected for years? Who gets to decide where the money is to be spent on?

While China is focused on long term governing, US is playing short term political games with its people ; all in the name of freedom and democracy. Future relationship between US and China must be built on mutual trust and respect, not based on empty words but solid actions. Raising unsubstantiated human right concerns in such meeting is political. Luckily China didn't play the same game by raising concerns of poverty, BLM, gun violence etc. in US. No country is perfect; let's build on the strength and work on the weakness.

It's SAD but TRUE , US will never treat China as equal , NOT IN MY LIFE TIME. US will never be friendly to China , NOT IN MY LIFE TIME. I tell myself to think positive but it's not going to happen. The prejudice , hatred & jealousy is just too deep. It's a dead knot. I'm a frequent visitor to China. Yes , China is not perfect , so are the rest of the world. But in my opinion , China is many times better than US in many aspects. China deserves the respect & i give her my respect. No bombs & no war to become No.2 economy while US is the opposite. China is running her own race & lifting millions out of misery , & US is not happy. China has become a technology power house , & US is not happy. China has no human rights because China bans gun & BLM issues , & US is not happy. China is a socialist country with Chinese chararteristics , & US is not happy. China does not have 800 military bases around the globe , & US is not happy. China does not instigate people to topple their own government on foreign soil , & US is not happy. China proposes & encourages BRI , & US is not happy. China does not sanction other countries like theres no tommorrow , & US is not happy. China does not export war & misery to Afghanistan & left abruptly after 20 destructive years , & US is not happy. China does not bomb Middle East into a bloody mess , & US is not happy. China owns 5G , & US is not happy. China urges US for a respectful win-win relationship , & US is not happy. China tells US to stop meddling in Asia as US only brings chaos & possibly wars in this region , & US is not happy. & i want to tell the Americans this , generally common Americans are nice people but their government is a war demon. US should send her people here cultural exchanges & promote friendship & trade. Americans are not Asians. America is OCEANS away from Asia. So , her military should go home. Asia has no place for US warmongers. I'm Chinese from SEAsia. Peaceful coexistance. 和平共处。
