Each and every time I see these huge planes it just keeps me so amazed that these things get off the ground and in the air even though I very well know why. Just think about the incredible amount of weight / freight is in the airplane and then add fuel to that, the weight of the airplane itself, etc. just fantastic I think.

It's a marvel for sure watching something so big and heavy just levitate off into the sky. By comparison we can only jump a feet or two ourselves! Ships are impressive with how much they can carry while floating, these are impressive with how much they can carry while in the air. In the 70's, when I lived in The Netherlands it flew over our soccer game and everything came to a halt as everybody just stared in awe of the size of that plane, I mean here was a plane bigger than the Boeing 747?? Thanks for the video! Amazing aircraft. I took my grandson to an air show at Dover A.F.B (Delaware) many years ago. They had one on display and you could walk inside. It is absolutely humongous and pictures do not reflect how much cargo these things can move.

Yes these are big. My Nephew is a C-17 co-pilot for the US Airforce stationed in Georgia. However, the C-5 Galaxy is much more bigger.

The President's vehicle is called 'The Beast'. Its not just bulletproof, it is bomb-proof and has other advanced defense engineering weapons. Its like an advanced James Bond vehicle but much much bigger. Really interesting to learn about on youtube, like Air Force One.

Having lived near Andrews AFB in Maryland, how amazing is it to see these planes coming in for a landing? They are total beasts; and AF1 is no butterfly either; we would hear the fighter jets come over 1, 2, 3...and then we knew to look and listen for AF1 to be not far behind. Amazing airplanes! That presidential limo is a beast too; a total fortress on 4 wheels; I've watched the documentary on the making of the Beast; and it's mind blowing technology that car has to keep our top officials safe. If you are ever in DC and see a motorcade; you can know it's the president because there is always an ambulance in the motorcade. I'm kind of wondering where the SUVs with the turrets are, I didn't see them in this grouping. Thanks for the video! While some love or hate the guy, he's our President and it's good to see him representing, though I'd rather see an ambassador there instead of our POTUS for security reasons.

British government rules should be regarding VIPs attending "either follow our rules or don't come"...unless the King/Royal Family grants an individual exception or the late Queen left specific instructions for which individuals should attend. Amendment: I should add that states can also send their Ambassadors if they want to appear to be part of it but have security concerns as Ambassadors require less security.

Of course, US only respects sovereignty when it suits their own interests. As I said the late Queen may have left instructions for specific people to attend or the King/Royal Family may grant exemptions as technically this is a private affair the state must take a back seat. If the Royal Family wants Biden to attend and grant an exemption for his entourage then fair enough.

President is not landing there. Thats the staging area for their vehicles as they have more space there.

It'll be the closest runway that can handle a 747 to minimize road distances/traffic headaches. Longer distances also mean more cops assigned to the route and I suspect they are going to be very busy as it is. Secret Service and other parts of the presidential visit get the longer ride into town. It also looks like the Marines will be working out of this location with their MC-22 Ospreys since they have 4 of them there.

airforce1 is a boeing 747 so a humungas flying aircraft so it will probrably need to go to standstead for the runways witch are able to allow it to land i got told not even a vulcan bomber given there size can land at leeds and bradford so the 2 airports nerest is doncaster or manchester with runways that can handle them

Plenty of vehicles that we here in the UK might describe as "Gas Guzzlers". I remember seeing huge US-type SUV being used in the film From Paris with Love and they just struck me as being completely unnecessary and over-the-top and basically two-fingers up to much more reasonable sized cars built in Europe.
