I agree. But what would you say, now, if I said that Putin has set Russia back 40 years ? The state of affairs - such as they have existed since Russia invaded Ukraine almost a year ago - is as bleak as any I can remember. It may be that Russia has legitimate concerns as regards the eastward expansion of NATO, but NATO doesn`t invade and co-erse other countries into becoming an integral part of western defence, as Russia seems to be attempting in the invasion of Ukraine.
