the only reason I can see is the video isn't correct with it's title because it's not the congressional medal of honor it's simply the medal of honor.

Tell me, is it every video, or only the Trump, one's ? Sad when politics enters these events that honor brave people. We also know that MSM, like CNN, will try to pull the president apart.

I looked at John Carney's eye's, and see a great sadness there. I have a feeling that he is thinking of all his comrades he lost, and could not be there to celebrate with him. It tells me of the great tragedy that is war. Some, probably all, who have seen action, will always pay another price...the memory of the battles they have seen, and the deep tragedy that surrounded them. Good soldiers are made...HEROES ARE BORN.

This man is a typical Marine, brave, honest, totally ready to sacrifice himself for his brothers. Yes you could see the memories in his eyes, but I guarantee that there were some happy and sad memories, as well as proud thoughts of his men. What more can you say to a Marine but Semper Fi gunny, you are a shining light.

After watching Barack Obama’s medal of honor ceremonies, I watched this one. The seriousness and sincere gratitude coupled with the obvious understanding of what these brave men and women sacrifice was clearly shown in Obama’s handling of this ceremony. Trump on the other hand treats it like a spot at the comedy cellar. He even does crowd work. Pretty funny. Anyway, congratulations to this patriot receiving the Medal of Honor.

For a moving MOH ceremony, watch President Regan read the citation for US Army Special Forces SFC Roy Benavidez. What SFC Benavidez went through during an improvised quick reaction rescue attempt in Vietnam, is a hair raising account of a man’s will to stay alive and “save” the wounded and dead American troops from a viscous enemy. He epitomizes what it takes to earn and wear the Green Beret. I learned about Roy during my time in the SF Officers Q Course in 1974 at Ft Bragg.

You're delusional. Trump doesn't care about the military, he even bought out his way from the draft in the Vietnam era. Trump is a psychopathic businessman. He cares only about making himself richer and giving himself good PR. He doesn't know anything about the policies, ceremonies etc.. that he enacts and participates in as Commander in Chief, never has and never will. He cares only about cultivating an image which can make him more money. If you think Trump cares about anyone you need to look only at his business dealings as a civilian. Contractors, construction workers etc.. who still years later have not been paid for literally making his buildings out of thin air.

The two officers from the Navy and two from the army. Their ropes are on correctly and the Navy when not wearing boards pins them to the uniforms. This is normal wear as far as I can remember. I had a rope for about a year of my time in the service and we had a dress and an everyday one to wear on our uniform, that was just a single rope and no extra flourishes. Now I'm not an expert and it was 40 years ago but it doesn't seem to have changed much since then.

It is the Medal Of Honor. NOT The Congressional Medal Of Honor. It is presented by the President in the name of the Congress. But Congress is not a part of the medals name. Nearly everyone has mistakenly stated the name, for so many years that people keep on saying congressional medal. There are no congressional medals awarded to the military. The Congress is a civilian entity not military, they award their own medals to civilians. The criteria for the MOH is in public law and can be reviewed for clarity.

Why should he be ashamed or embarrassed. I don't ever feel that way when I meet someone who has received an honor, like even the air medal or the silver star or the Navy cross. The last guy who I worked with who was a recipient of the Navy cross downplayed his role in the battle yet he was awarded the medal. He was a marine and ended up as a chief master sgt. We worked togeather with other vets as personal protection and I found that we all have the same commonality that it was just doing what we do. Nothing different from yesterday or today. Good men are not that hard to find if you look in the right company. Vets still protect what we love.

Maybe he is as inspired by this mans actions and it influences those who aspire to be like them. It's not so bad to take the same courage into yourself so as to strive to be the best you can be. I have a limp too and I'm inspired by my fellows to this day so much that no matter how much it hurts it's nothing compared to my pride to have been associated no matter how minimally with men of integrity and self sacrafice who put duty before self and it makes me want to be a better man and I always walk without a limp when we go away, maybe it's just me being prideful and not wanting to be thought of for a moment as weakened.
