President McKinley 3 year plus overview plus AVG/PEP Test

I just got a President McKinley a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I really like the SWR meter. It makes tuning the antenna really fast. Automatic squelch control is an awesome feature too. I also love the front facing speaker and the small size of the radio. I have the radio in my car and it fits great.

I also ggot back into CB radio some three months ago and I have bought myself 2 President radios which is the President Lincoln 2+ and the President MC Kinley and I also have a CRT SS 9900 CB radios . I must say i highly recommend the CRT SS 9900 and the President Lincoln 2+ and MC Kinley!!!!

I have the european version of the President MC Kinley which has FM/AM and SSB! I have modified the radio by cutting the white wire and moved the jumper which makes the radio into a export radio where on FM and AM you get 20 watts output power and 12 watts on SSB! I highly recommend the President MC Kinley!

I’m gonna break down and get a McKinley right after the first of the year. I’ve been holding out for em to come out with a FM model, but it won’t be a deal breaker since I recently bought a President Thomas. Good video!

Yes it’s a great rig. Having Fm on it would be nice. But it’s worth having Side band. Do you have operators in your area that you can talk too?

We have a handful of locals still active on cb where I live in Southwest OH. Don’t know if any of em use FM? The guys I hunt with have em in their trucks too. OST of the off-raiders around here use CB & GMRS. I have my GMRS license.

I waiting for President to add the FM THEN ...I plan to pull the strings on getting a McKinley. I have been looking at these ever since they were released. Does Peaking the radio really offer any better performance?

To answer your question not really. You can turn up the modulation to say 95 percent I wouldn’t go higher cause you’ll end up flat topping on the oscilloscope. But having a 4 watts for Am will keep it cooler on those long QSO’s. I mean you can turn it down to two watts like I show here and it will still swing to 10-15 watts. Yeah I would like FM on it too
