2:30 The satin finish ones ended with Abraham Lincoln in 2010. The rest of them in those mint sets are business strikes. I did my research on them when I was collecting them in 2016. I just bought George H.W. Bush last month.

Satin finish only 2005 thru 2010 mint sets (2007 thru 2010 for presidential). The rest are regular business strike or proofs.

To chime in - there were no satin finish unc coins after 2010. They were made between 2005 - 2010 the satin finish Unc sets. So only Presidential dollars with sating finish are those from 2007 - 2010.

Had a customer once we got to talking dollar coins. He said they have just a little bit of gold for the color. I said no gold, he said yes. I stopped he knew it had gold. P.S. I wish the date etc. Was on the obverse. Dont care for edge lettering. 👍👍👍

Recently picked up $484 worth of dollar rolls, all were customer rolled except for one. It was a NF String George Washington worth approximately $30 according to Ebay sales. Will go through them trying to fill slots in my albums and look for errors and varieties.

Hey from SoCali, I thought I would stop in as I have found your channel to be fun and informative in the past and the fact that I have come across about $600.00 worth of Presidential coins at my local bank. I always the past few years ask when a rare occasion takes me inside the bank and usually ask for any old large dollar coins that may have come in. When the teller looked in his log, he stated that he had at the time $400.00 in what he called dollar coins. I said yes please I will take them for a rainy day and check them out. I was surprised to see they were Presidential and that the rolls were not repacked but from the mint, thought I really had something there🤣 Anyway I see that they are at least going for in most cases nearly double face value on Ebay without opening the rolls. All that said I say thanks again and will look back to learn what I can from your channel and store. God Bless and Happy and Merry Holidays

I enjoy collecting the dollar coins since they are generally inexpensive. The Presidential dollars are one of the things that got me into collecting because of my love of presidential history. And just to add to the video-the Mint released a George HW Bush Coin last month!

I have, I think 27 uncirculated N.F. String rolls of these with all different Presidents. I don't know if I should hold on to them or sell them. I would like to open them but I wonder if the rolls are more valuable than individual. Could there be errors? idk. I had 50 rolls of 2005 Jefferson Nickels and I cracked them looking for errors such as the "Speared" Buffalo but was disappointed. None found dang it! But now I have a bunch of uncirculated Nickles!

Can someone please tell me why I will never get half of my money back from this idea. I really like these coins, a set isn't just the same tbing over and over, and I could feasibly put together a top pop set across the board, including varieties. Am I likely to have my collection lose 50% as those vaults pop out MS-68's and 69's to my low top pop 67's and 68's?

I was able to get rolls for $25 from the bank when they first came out for about 5 years. Then the banks stopped ordering them so I bought them through the mint and eBay. I thought the presidential dollar program was over in 2016. However, they just released the George H Bush dollar and it is available from the mint. Now I need to add him to my collection. I wonder when will that program end?

Program did end. Special authorization is necessary from Congress for any presidents that passed-away since the end of the program.

Presidential dollar sets look nice but I don’t believe they will become valuable except to individuals who like them, but not collectors who want high dollar coins. It’ll probably be many years from now. The album’s they’re stored in cost as much if not more than the coins.

@@CoinHELPu The early ones have very low mintages, Truman and Ike are under 17K. I realize that doesn't matter if no one is collecting them. OGP Truman set are selling in the $160-180 range. They were much higher right after release. I think they could go back up in time because of the rarity.

Not a fan of presidential dollar program.The designs for one thing are sub par compared to mint designers of the past. The program was enacted under the false believe that they would be widely used in circulation.I consider them an example of government waste

The most common question from cashiers: "Are these real?" A lack of awareness of legal tender sometimes occurs with paper money as well. I remember when the large portrait $10 bills first came out. I ordered fast food and paid with a $10 bill. The lady at the window gave me change for $100, and I told her that I gave her only $10. She confused Hamilton for Franklin and thanked me profusely for pointing out her error. She would have been about $93 short on her register if I'd been dishonest.
