If we consider all the facts, I think Trump is gonna be viewed as one of the worst Presidents in all full honesty, I mean he did try to do good, like the Middle East Peace Deal, he also sended agaents out of his own pocket to rescue people from the 9/11 attacks, he has done some good stuff indeed, but his evils overtook his goods, he made a musulim travel ban, he pushed us away from science, he also reduced efforts to take on cliamte change, he made a racism fuled wall which made it difficult for familes looking for a better life to get to the U.S., Trump also weakened our forgain relationships with his "America First" agenda, he used tax payer money to play golf, he also hasn't paid his taxes, he fuled the looting, vandalizing and breaching of the Capitol Building, he also wanted to brainwash children with nationalism instead of patriotism, one moment he could be praising his loyal republicans, the second he woul dbe trashing them for accepting the reality of democracy, with all that said history won't be kind to him and he deserves it.

President Tyler is also the ONLY U.S. president who didn't receive the honor of all U.S. flags being lowered to half-mast upon his death. This was because, when he passed away in 1862, the U.S. Civil War was raging, and Tyler had just won a seat in the Confederate States House of Representatives. President Lincoln therefore understandably refused to order all American flags lowered in his remembrance.

If you don't believe me then the information was out and proved to be that Reagan was a bit of a fraud, Shame that I was only 5 in 1980 and even if I told my late dad who worked with Mrs T as he was a Commonwealth Secretariat he would of been not believed by his work mates as would you do anything if your daughter thought Reagan was a fraud? With most of the other Presidents, you made an attempt to say some good and bad things, but with Trump, your bias was clearly showing. To be clear, I’ll name a few examples: 1. You say “America First” is similar to 1930’s fascism. Trump made it clear that he was saying he believed representatives of all countries had a duty to represent their people’s interest at the negotiating table. He said he would be “America First” because he would be the President of the United States of America. Please explain how you came to the conclusion that representing your constituents is somehow fascist? 2. The Paris Agreement is not inherently “scientific.” 3. Regarding Charlottesville, you say that “he failed to outright denounce [white supremacists].” In that same press conference, he said: “And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally.“ The word “totally” clearly means the same thing as the word “outright” in context. You are outright lying here. 4. While Trump made a big deal about “The Wall,” he wasn’t the first to support the idea. Walls and fences were voted for by both then Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. Over 100 miles of wall was built under Obama. 5. COVID “Experts”: Dr. Fauci lied about masks early on, telling people they didn’t need them. He later admitted that he was being deceptive to avoid a rush on N95 masks. Now, he’s flipped to saying that two masks would be great. We were told that shutdowns would only last two weeks. Many areas of the country are still in lock down status. Over 1,000 doctors signed off that the BLM protests were more important than pandemic restrictions. Democrats claim that Trump did basically nothing, but the same Democrats called Trump xenophobic when he restricted travel January 31st. Democrats actively told everyone to “join the crowds” in February (Nancy Pelosi). Democrats sent COVID patients to Nursing homes, greatly increasing deaths. 6. You mention Trump’s pardons. All Presidents pardon people when they are leaving. Why only mention Trump? To be clear, I’m not a Trump supporter. I never once voted for him. I just can’t stand the bias and vitriol I keep seeing. You yourself mention the “bubbles” created by the algorithms. I make comments like this as a small attempt to “pop” the bubble in hope that maybe we can all get along and understand each other better.

A lot to debunk here, so here I go! 1. Donald's "America First" slogan was very similar to the Nazi slogan, "Deutschland über Alles". If you failed to see the connection, well, then I'm afraid that's on you. 2. The Paris Climate Agreement is scientific. If you can't even come up with a single reason to suggest why it's not scientific, then quit babbling about pretending to know about science on the internet. 3. He points out that Donald failed to condemn white supremacists and neo Nazis for their attack on protesters at the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville in 2017. Now you're suggesting that he did not initially fail to condemn them, even though that's incorrect. The fact that he said they should be condemned in a later press conference due to the controversy of his failure to condemn the white supremacists does not change the fact that he failed to condemn them in the first place. According to you, if someone apologises for breaking your TV, they never broke your TV? 4. Obama and Clinton did indeed have stupid ideas about escalating the already harsh US immigration policy, but that does not alter the fact that Donald made a huge deal in his campaign about building a wall and needing to further tighten immigration policy. Sounds like a whataboutism to me. 5. When did the author of the video praise Obama's border policy and inhumane treatment of immigrants? I agree with you that Obama's immigration policy was awful and inhumane, like Joe Biden's and that of other US Presidents, but that does not change the fact that it was horrible under Donald. He brought up Donald's barbaric immigration policy and his "zero tolerance" doctrine because his continuation and escalation of the harsh US immigration measures was a huge controversy in his Presidency. That, and he had made a huge deal in his campaign criticising immigrants and talking about the need to make immigration policy even harsher. I don't see why you find that difficult to understand why he put particular emphasis on Donald's policy. You seem to be performing a whataboutism by suggesting that the video supports the immigration policy of other US Presidents. I have no idea where you got that impression. He mentioned the horrific treatment of refugees under Donald because that was one of the most infamous controversies of his administration. I do think this video should have brought up the immigration policies of other Presidents, but it seems that because you're unable to deny the horrible treatment of immigrants under Donald's administration, you're just resorting to criticising other Presidents' immigration policies for the sake of taking attention away from him. 5. Donald's shambles of a response to the coronavirus pandemic is possibly the defining feature of his Presidency. The failed response of the US to the pandemic came from Donald's narcissistic incompetence in valuing his own opinion over that of experts, calling to 'liberate' American states from pandemic restrictions that protect lives, labelling the coronavirus as a "hoax", politicised by Democrats and advertising false cures for the virus he saw on Fox News. You don't have to be an "expert" to recognise Donald's chaotic handling of the pandemic. You seem to bring up Anthony Fauci and Democrats for no reason. This video is not about Anthony Fauci, nor is it about Democrats' Covid advice. Once again, you just seem to be trying to bring up the mistakes of other people just for the sake of taking the attention off of Donald's mistakes, since you're unable to actually refute Donald's lousy response to the pandemic. 6. If you think the pardons were a bad feature of his Presidency, then you're free to express you're opinion. And again I agree that there was plenty of bad stuff about other Presidents that the video didn't cover. But it's impossible to fit everything in one video. The author of the video was explicity willing to touch on a lot of the bad stuff done by other US Presidents: he brought up Franklin D Roosevelt's concentration camps for Asian Americans, he brought up the horrific bombings of Vietnam under Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon, he brought up Bill Clinton's and Barack Obama's tax cuts for big corporations, and he brought up Obama's drone strikes. In the case of Donald, there was a lot more to criticise, because, to put it quite simply, it's difficult to stay objective when it comes to far-right populists and extremists. If this video criticised neo Nazis or the KKK, I think certain groups of people would also be accusing the author of being too biased. It might be too much to ask to want a video to be completely free from a political stance.

Beg to differ. The Electoral College system isn’t hilariously over complicated. Each state has a number of electors according to their population. We are not a Democracy. Our founders deliberately and unanimously rejected the idea of a democracy because they knew history and understood human nature. We are a Constitutional Republic. If we had a democratic election system, the 3-4 most populous states would elect the president.
@porrii
@porrii 2 жыл бұрын
thats nearly what already happens. california, texas, new york, etc have far more votes than smaller states like wyoming, alaska, vermont, etc. because they have a far greater population, so they have far greater a say in who is elected president. california's 55 electoral votes trump wyoming's 3 votes. though it should be noted that smaller states are actually overrepresented because every state receives +2 electoral votes for their senate seats (electoral votes are assigned to a state based on the number of congressional districts + number of senate seats) and so because of this states receive a minimum of 3 electoral votes when (if the goal is equal representation) they should receive just 1. because of this, wyoming for example receives 1 electoral vote for roughly every 192,000 people and california receives one vote for roughly every 718,000 people. im comparing the smallest and largest state to demonstrate my point better, but it does expose that a person in a smaller state actually has *more* voting power. this skew towards smaller states is essentially the main reason why a president can win with a minority of the national popular vote, and you are right in saying that this is what the founding fathers intended and knew would occur; they weren't creating a democracy, they were creating a republic. personally, i agree with the idea that 1 person should have 1 vote, with no vote being more or less powerful than any other. people claim that big cities/states decide elections, and thats true to an extent and it is democracy at work, but it is also a little misleading i think. giving small states greater representation would give them more of a say in whose elected and what legislation is passed (ie. stop them from being ignored by larger states). but i believe that creates an inherit inequality in the system that is unfair towards larger states, and a fair democracy would represent everyone equally. should white people be given less voting power because as the majority, they will 'decide' the election and stop minorities from having a say? that is racism, people will cry. but wouldnt giving rural, smaller states be just the same logic, just less morally egregious? geographic inequalities are inevitable in a democracy, and a logical, i believe, would not favour one geographic area over another. to me, this seems more of an inherit problem with democracy based on geographic areas if anything, and the solution that would solve it is proportional representation (ie. scraping geographic electoral divisions entirely.) though this system has its own controversies (cough cough weimar germany). (though modern day germany uses a similar system).

@@cayorne I have not engaged in a good debate on KZbin in awhile now. Let’s dive in. Now, John confirmed that he is a socialist when he responded to a comment that critiqued socialism with him saying along the lines of “at least we don’t do blah blah blah”. So I can call him a command economy stooge, because he is one. I did not call him a commie. Unlike most people I know the difference between communism and socialism Sure a person does not need 10 billion dollars, but he can do whatever he wants with his money as long as it is legal. Also not subverting American interests. In the long run, capitalism is about making money for oneself, not charity. Which yes, can be annoying and harmful, but luckily we are mixed economy that has regulations so companies don’t con consumers and employees. Loopholes should be delt with, I can agree on that. I agree companies should not be bailed out to some degree. How do you propose we deal with these massive companies? “Don’t expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong” -Calvin Coolidge These companies are very important to the American economy and could easily change your life for the worse if we destroy them too much. Apple phones would become more expensive, Amazon shipping increase in price, Microsoft systems longer to release and etc. Also thousands of workers in America that would have to be laid off if these companies become to small. Poverty will always be around, but we can minimize it. Now I am not against to some government benefits to the poor, but taxing or regulating the living hell out of companies will not fix the problem. Giving and charity is more of a culture thing. If you want less poor on the streets encourage that. I always recommend the idea give companies tax breaks and benefits to the amount of charity they do. So they aren’t destroyed by government regulation and the have the encouragement to better communities for benefits. I would love to hear some ideas from ya.

@@kubrikansis7289 It's not just ideology, but indoctrination from our education system. Despite fear-mongering from the far-right that will tell you the opposite, grade school curriculum has always had a right-wing bias. Intended to paint America in the best light possible and outright ignore parts of history, like the Philippine-American War, that are impossible to revise. The reason why many college-educated Americans tend to lean Left is because college is the first time they actually learn about American history, and not a romanticized and revisionist view of history. And as we speak, right-wing state governments across the country are trying and succeeding in making US education even more right-wing. Dismissing any analytical and historical discussion on racism as being Marxist rhetoric. It is not rhetoric that America's racist past still has effects on modern society. It is a fact. Small correction; the Capital of the USA was founded as “the District of Colombia,” people started calling it “Washington” after our first President in the 19th century, which is why maps put “Washington, the District of Colombia” on it to this day. "A new federal city was then constructed on the north bank of the Potomac, to the east of Georgetown. On September 9, 1791, the three commissioners overseeing the capital's construction named the city in honor of President Washington. The same day, the federal district was named Columbia (a feminine form of "Columbus"), which was a poetic name for the United States commonly in use at that time.[30][31] Congress held its first session there on November 17, 1800.[32][33] Congress passed the District of Columbia Organic Act of 1801 which officially organized the district and placed the entire territory under the exclusive control of the federal government. Further, the area within the district was organized into two counties: the County of Washington to the east (or north) of the Potomac and the County of Alexandria to the west (or south).[34] After the passage of this Act, citizens living in the district were no longer considered residents of Maryland or Virginia, which therefore ended their representation in Congress.[35]" ...
