Yeah, I bought this recently. I just hooked it up, and was testing out the audio on your YT video lol. I upgraded from the Presonus Studio 18|24. I'm still working out some of the kinks and learning this new gear. On playback, I do like what I'm hearing. I wil be testing it out on recording real soon : )

I would have hopped by now they would include built in DSP, at least the FAT Channel, like they did in the Studio 192 etc.

I got a great deal on the quantum 2626 and I gotta say I was never a Presonus fan just always seemed like a cheap brand but after realizing how stable the quantum 2626 is and how much low latency I could get I have officially became a Presonus fan boy after 13 years on pro tools I’ve went ahead and purchased studio one 7 and man so far I’ve been loving studio one if I get to learn it as good as pro tools I’m gonna make the full transition

I have a 2626, too, AND a firestudio project. They are reliable, sound good, and work fine with a Win10 machine and the correct firewire pcie card. Still alot of interference for the money.

Where you able to fix the ADAT connectivity?. There is an ADAT only setting in the menu that you need to activate. I also have some issues with the main volume controlling the other outputs. I'll give that another try today. Maybe setting the main volume in a different way might fix my issues. I love this unit, but coming from Totalmix, I feel there are a lot of limitations with the UC and the drivers. I get stuttering with some of my heavier projects. I'm thinking of exchanging my HD2 for a HD8 and using it in ADAT mode with my RME digiface. The sound qualities of the this unit are great though, all the ins and out have very good audio quality.

@@TheAudioCzar I connected today the ADAT with my HD2 at first It was not working then I realize that the ADAT ports are not in pairs. The first 2 are ins and the second 2 are outs. Once I made this realization it seems to work just fine. Maybe that was the issue you were having.

Been thinking about upgrading to a rack mount interface I watched this video because I’m torn between the presounus hd 8 and the arturia audiofuse 16 rig the arturia has a few more features that are producer centric but it also is 250 dollars more and I’m still not sure 🤔 anyway still waiting for a podcast lmk if you have any suggestions for rack mount audio interfaces 👌🏾

Really? No mention of latency? I know you aren't recording with it yet but you did talk about replacing the 2626 with an HD8 and that's where latency is relevant.
@TheAudioCzarАй бұрын
@@bigstewdio I've never had any latency issues with the 2626, I haven't had any latency issues with any of the quantums.
@bigstewdioАй бұрын
@@TheAudioCzar yeah, that's my point. The HD8 doesn't have the same low latency of the 2626 (or any of the previous quantum interfaces). If you're going to record stuff then that's important and the new quantum line doesn't have the one thing that made the original quantum line so amazing.
@TheAudioCzarАй бұрын
@@bigstewdio 90% of the time I'm tracking vocals or vocals and guitar. Never had an artist complain about latency. What feature is missing from previous quantums?
@bigstewdioАй бұрын
@@TheAudioCzar the missing feature on the new "quantum" interfaces is the super low latency of the original line. That was the whole point of the original interfaces and the reason why a lot of people (including myself) bought them. The new interfaces have abandoned thunderbolt which I kind of understand but you need thunderbolt to get those low latency numbers. But even for a USB interface, RME (for example) has lower latency than the new quantum line so they're not even fast by usb standards. Does it matter? Well I think it does because I like the simple workflow that the original quantum interfaces gave you. You just monitored everything through the DAW, even with a high track count and loads of plugins, but I don't think that's going to be possible with the new interfaces.
@metalplatedfacejobАй бұрын
@@bigstewdio yeah, they improved converter specs at the cost of digital connectivity it seems. This is what happens when you build things to price point. I would be more then happy to spend the extra money on a box from PreSonus that had the goods. Motu can do it but PreSonus can't? not buying it.
@SamuelHaywood17Ай бұрын
After several hours of figuring out how this all works, I was able to figure out the A/B switching for me. I used the mixer mode and also turned on the monitor switching setting. I took the loopback usb return from Studio One and put the faders up for Mains 1-2. Outs 3-4 are taken over by the B speakers, which mirror whatever you have mixed to Mains 1-2. I didn’t have good luck trying to figure this out using the interface mode. I like that you have A/B mute/dim control integrated in Studio One as well as quick access to routing output monitoring for HP1 and HP2.

I've had the d8 for several months, there's bugs in the software that comes and goes . Areas in the screen will go blank but you can still hear it, just can't see it, which is bad, after every update something goes right and something goes wrong. I should have waited a year before purchasing.
