I found the van reverb good for kick and snare, while making the verb short and damp, gave some good body to them, without having to push the EQ-s on the channels themselves.

My church just recently purchased the 32sx , Im enjoying it alot. The one thing i did notice on all the reverbs is that there is no decay time to dial in .

FX were one of my biggest gripes when our contractors suggestes the 32sx... my recommendation was the WING, which they don't deal due to the B word. We ended up with the PreSonus... I might just route what I want to Studio One and use those reverb. Thanks for the video!

I don't own a presonus, but I still find your insights valuable in case I happen to use one. I use Chorus lightly on vocals and bass. It's really killer and makes both have a kind of pitchshift effect. I could break out my mixer to share numbers if asked for, it's packed away in it's road case. P.s. never touch a flanger lol

To go from Hz (cycles /sec) to time (sec/Cycle), just take the reciprocal (inverse) of the Hz. So as an example, for 60Hz, take 1/60 = 1.66mS/Cycle.

I just started using Presonus mixers again and now I remember why I stopped using them just for this reason. The eq and preamps are nice but the FX are something to be desired. The Behringer stuff has some really nice delays and combo delay/reverbs that I'm really going to miss.

Yeah there's room for improvement, but it's usable. I used it for a musical that had a bunch of different styles and was able to dial in something appropriate for each.

I got a recommendation from someone on the PreSonus team to heavily compress the outputs to the effects and then EQ them as well, and spending the time dialing that in made their effects more broadly effective and often even to really good. It is a bummer that you have to work so hard for that initially though.

Hello everyone I hope someone can help me, I just started having an issue out of nowhere, the tempo click to keep the singers on time is coming out on my main and it’s only set to come out on the monitors, can anyone suggest anything to try to fix this?

Whenever I use reverb or delay with my 16r there's latency and it's substantial. I thought dsp processing would fix that but it's there. Any tips?

I believe you can send one fx return to another fx processor. Just scroll all the way right and you'll see the options pop up

They need to have a minivan preset. This will limit the overkill factor of those van settings. AND it dampens any cool factor you thought you had. I do drive a minivan anyway... PreSonus didn't get everything right on that plug-in, but I'm willing to overlook that because I have lots of 3rd party plug-ins that really do amazing, and that I can insert or send to an FX channel. This is on my Studio One 6.1 Artist in the shiny new Mac Mini M2.

I appreciate your knowledge. I have a question. I don't use Presonus' DAW. I use reaper. If I use the mixer FX from the fat channel, will those fx render to a wav/mp3 , or no? That is the only question that's keeping me from purchasing the board.

Typically. If I want a little more control on the return side to ride levels up and down, I'll put the send master at -12 and the return at unity.

In witch Order of the Audio Stream are the Effects? Is Effect one the real First in the chain?

The effects are in parallel, not in series. It's not like a guitar pedal board where each effect feeds into another. Each effect has its own send and dedicated return, which can then be mixed into the stereo bus or another send.

Our church bought the StudioLive 32 when they first came out. We have NEVER been able to even setup the effects in ANY fashion. It is like they are not in the mixer. The user manual does not explain how to set ANY effect from scratch. Even contacted Presonus with email thread. Still no luck.

When you hit the FX A Send button (or B, C, D), is the master fader down?

I have the 24R and use it for an in ear monitor console for rehearsals. We previously had a small behringer X32 Rack and needed more inputs and outputs. The 3 big things that make the Presonus worse in my opinion are #1 the send Effects are garbage and that can kill a musicians mood when playing. The reverb tails sound like a upright piano resonating which is a sign of low quality digital reverb. #2 the low impedance microphone preamps at 1Kilo-ohm is very low and makes dynamic mics sound super dark and lifeless compared to any other new digital mixer with mic amps of 5 kilo-ohms or higher. #3 the channel effects are pretty bland as well but the fact that they sound bad makes me stick to the regular old standard digital EQ and standard compressor. The only compressor I'll use other than the standard is the Tube CB since it has a a decent uses for slow leveling style compression. When you add those three things up it makes for a very bland and lifeless in ear monitor mix. When we play live we use Waves LV1 soundgrid and the difference in quality is night and day. Our IEM mixes are exciting and studio quality compared to the bland rehearsal IEM mixes from the presonus. The presonus has great routing and the app for everyone to control their own monitors is pretty great, but the asking price is far too high for the feature set you get in my humble opinion.

Nice video, but it isn't really fair to call it unusable. Like 99% of reverb simulations ever made being it some of the best software plugins or older gritty sounding 12 bit hardware units its ALL ways been about finding that sweet spot area where it actually sound somewhat usable (natural) instead of just a weird effect that might only be usefull for already weird sounds. However, considdered how flexible these Digital Mixers of today can be and the possible routings that only very pro analog mixers that were off the charts price wise for mere mortal users just up to a decade ago, it's kinda weird you can't route the effect in the Presonus series III mixers. Even pretty simple analog mixers 20 years ago often had a "Send to Aux 2" in a mixer with either discrete or buildin Effects/Aux sends. That one is a major design blunder, that really could be like the easiest thing to fix in a software update of the mixer. I'm not a "pro" sound guy, but It's my idea that many of the effects is pretty good. I primary want some decent general reverb and delays that can bee used on different instruments and vocals. As a Keyboard player I have usually more than enough effects posibilities on most of my sounds and usually don't use the mixer effects at all, but as most keyboard players I often tend to use a tad too much effects already on some of my sounds to make them "big". I do like to often use like an E/R type effect to give the sound thickness and add a general reverb ammount dependent if its for comping or a Solo sound. I am also as puzzled about deays on many keyboard effects as you, and It really don't help me out alot if I go math crazy and try to figure out the math in a ping pong delay

Like most How Tos on KZbin , instead of doing a minimal setup to show/prove a point, this creator does SO MUCH it is hard if not impossible to see the problem. I came here to understand HOW to actually simply use/turn on the effects on our Presonus Studiolive 32. We had ours since it first cam out and have yet to get ONE single effect to work. Our next audio product WILL NOT BE FROM Presonus. Horrible support and NO HELP from Presonus users on KZbin.
