Dude, this hekka inspired me so much, I literally started various Projects for my Song Seeds collection (basically all initiated from "fill with notes" and then worked on quickly to sound like setting cool) this is so rad to just quickly go through them and pick one to work on when I need a break from the songs closer to being fleshed out

I think the idea to store song ideas on the PP is gold Joe - thanks!

Hi Joe good you pointed out the power of the project page. I discovered it a few versions ago and have been using it as a starting point for recording. I find it works well as a scratch pad for all of those unfinished parts of songs that are laying around and helps them together. For musicians that are still creating albums, it really is a fantastic tool and makes the Pro version of S1 worth the $. Take care and Happy Holidays!

Love the idea of using the project page for song ideas instead of a bunch of song files. I have a long list of song ideas saved as songs in S1 and clicking on each one to remember what it was is tedious. Putting them all in the project page just makes a lot of sense where you can access each one very quickly. Thanks.

I had to come back here to say again THANK YOU ❤ As i got an inspiration from this video i went through all my beats on the recent songs list and went through them one by one and sended them all to a project named "beats". Now i have 76 beats on my project page with some colored as blue (ready free ones), some greenish (ready used ones) and yellow (not ready ones). Now i can go through them easily and go back to working on the incomplete ones if i get an inspiration by listening to them in the project page. I do loads of new beats, but very rarely go back to the incomplete ones as it would have been hard to find just that ONE that was good and inspirational one for this moment. This was soooo helpful that i'm just glowing with happiness. Thank you one more time! ❤❤

Love the tip about using the project page as a place to store song ideas!!! I hate to think about how many hours I've wasted, opening a million songs, trying to remember if the one I wanted to work on was called "June 26" or " June 28". Game changer!

Oh man! That "ideas storage" idea really made light bulb flash in my head! Will be using it to keep my beats making in one project page. Thank you!

I'm starting a new documentary composition project and decided to fully use Studio One after demoing it for a few weeks. I'm right at the early stages of the project and it's these kinds of organizational ideas that have me really excited. I'd love if you revisited this kind of stuff, or if you've tried some of these Project methods any further and have thoughts.

I like the idea of using the Proj page for cataloging ideas! I am gonna look into that.

Another way to go about it is to create a root tab from your preferred cloud-storage/riff-log folder in the files section of the studio one browser. Open a new song (Not a project!) then use the browser to audition your riffs/song ideas. Drag one into the song and save it, then send it to a new project. When you're ready to work on another, just open a new blank song or template then browse/audition for the next riff that strikes your fancy, drag it in, save it, but this time send it to the previously created project. Now your riff/song ideas are in song format, ready to flesh out into all production phases. When you import an mp3/wav into a project and right click on it, you don't have the ability to create a song page from it so it's just best in my opinion to audition from a song's browser, then save into a project per riff/idea. Sorry for the long comment, lol...Love ya Joe, you and Gregor are the best!

I use the Studio One song as a project in most cases and record all songs in the song page. But this option is also very usable to have.

Hi Joe great video but you need to do one on setting up the project page from a son's. I am having a hard time figuring the best way to do it. For some reason in SO6 there must have been a change. Also SO6 picks a weird place to make the folder for the project. It is outside of the song folder structure. I for one work one song at a time not albums of songs so if you have time it would me greatly. Happy Holidays -Tony

If you’ll put the video player in here, and sync it to the individual songs smpte, scoring for longer projects would become so much easier. Doing a specific cue? dive in on that and work on it, want a bird eye view and to make some macro edits? Go to project page and see how it all lines up.

I have to say this: Just contacted Presonus Support and I am POSITIVELY SHOCKED how fantastic job they do. I am slowly switching from Ableton to S1 and can only say - the difference in support quality is like night and DAY. I am really impressed. So far it is better in every possible aspect ! Ableton was great 12 years ago when I started. Now, their support is absolute trash. I hope this will not happen to Presonus. So far I really like this company attitude (so different from others). Yes, there are things I would like to see improved, but comparing how much PRESONUS have done with their software in such a short time (for example comparing STEINBERG being on the market forever) is mind blowing. Even after 12+yrs of using LIVE there is a lot to learn to use S1, but there also seems to be much more possibilities with this software. Dear PRESONUS people - I wish you became number one DAW on the planet ! Thank you for your work and support and most of all for listening to your customers/users. KZbin Q&A sessions are absolutely fantastic !!

Hey, great video. Here's a weird question. So, during the mastering process I like to listen through the songs sequentially without a player "interrupting" the flow of the songs with little pauses between tracks etc.. The way I've traditionally done this is to creat a digital release and then import those mastered songs into a song and painstakingly butt them all up against eachother so there are no gaps. Is there a way to "export mixdown" from the Project Page the same way you do from the song page as to create a "FULL ALBUM" type of WAV/MP3 file of the entire project?
@timetravelvictim
@timetravelvictim Жыл бұрын
Do you mean you want to export all the songs on the project page as one file? If that's what you mean, I just tried it and I don't see any options to do so. I tried a few checkboxes in the export options and each file rendered out separately. I think this would be a good feature to include.
@TheTeekayes
@TheTeekayes Жыл бұрын
@@timetravelvictim yep. Exactly. Same. I just don't see any way to do it. If they would add that as a feature save so much time!

@@TheTeekayes Make your last song so that it has about 10 seconds of blank space. Then starting at the last song, drag the track number all the way to the right. Keep doing this until all your songs are on track #1. If I could put a screenshot here, I'd show you what I mean. The reason for the 10 seconds of blank space will be obvious, because it will need to make a little space for each track you move. So you will get one file with all the songs, and then a bunch of little files that represent the other tracks, but should be empty.
@TheTeekayes
@TheTeekayes Жыл бұрын
@@MidiboyGregg oh dang! I'll try it thanks! So all songs should play into each other with the proper spacing and everything or will it add spaces by adding tracks it adds?
@MidiboyGregg
@MidiboyGregg Жыл бұрын
@@TheTeekayes It'll all be one track. The actual track #s that you move "splits" the mixdown into separate tracks, so if you move them all to the end, all your tracks will be one color, and show that they are all track 1. So any spacing you applied as well as any merges you applied will still be there in one file.
