Pains me to say it, cause i love them both, but they are simply not cut from the same cloth as magnus, kasparov, fischer, etc... This match was all about nerves. Magnus would NEVER allow it. U want to beat him, u beat him with good moves, not with pressure. They are simply not as mentally strong as magnus

@@villardileonardo2411 until magnus loses to a 2699 and start crying about cheating. Look, yes magnus is far more better at grinding and much composed on end games...and deffo much concentrated esp in very long games, but he does have bad plays and he does blunder... Funny enough, the issue is the fact that he is magnus, many players trust him not to blunder and get blinded to miss a blunder then he equalizes a losing position... Simply psychology.

@@villardileonardo2411 he never lost to such low rated player. He drew with low rated players and he really didn't like it and showed it on the board. Whether hans has ever cheated on the board remains to be proven and people are innocent until proven guilty... Isn't that how the law is?? Thank you Ding and Nepo for a fantstatic, memorable game. And thank you press conference for good questions and not trolling the players today. This game might not have been to the liking of the Lilliputian fans of the catenaccio approach to chess (a la Ulf Andersson). But if you want to see more games like Argentina vs France, this was it. Of course, for some, the perfect game is one of those Belgium vs Switzerland 0-0 snoozers...which unfortunately has become too easy to engineer with the help of today's robots and databases. Some of us had given up--Grischuk's famous "RIP classical chess" after 12 straight draws in the Carlsen-Caruana match seemed pretty final, but this match shows that if both players are willing to go after the win, it can still be 6-6 after 12 games with PLENTY of decisive results. It's true, they will have to put up with silly, even ignorant comments from the spiritual descendants of Lilliput, but for the rest of us, thank you, you're both worthy champions, and we'll be glued to our screens in a few hours for game 13!

It depends on what they agreed to before the match. In the old days, yes, but IIRC at some point the rule became that all communication had to go through the arbiter (Karpov vs Korchnoi might have been when that started). It might not have been the same for subsequent "friendlier" matches, but I don't know.

That first question is a disgrace, the players haven't seen the almighty evaluation bar analysis, wouldn't know 'every move is a mistake'.
