I planted two seed trays yesterday 1/18. Will be starting indoors on heat mat. I did that with all my plantings. I was concerned about compaction but settled on the same reasoning. Potting soil is loose and I didn't push real hard. So cool the next day I get this video from you confirming my choice. Thanks Jag, great, concise video.

I just planted 9 varieties of tomatoes and I just did the compression as you show in how to plant seeds. Now is wait and see and of course check every day if they need water. Thank you for the advise.

for me I don't want to seed my tomatoes too early, last year I kept potting them up -- thet grew so fast - until finally it was warm enough to plant out!!

This is a very useful tip! One I will definitely be using in a couple a weeks time. I often get nervous when growing food from seed. I am determined not to give up! Your videos are slowly helping me to become 😢 more confident at growing my own fruit veg. It is the best feeling in world😆. 🙏🏻

I make my own seed starter soil from chicken/garden compost, how do you prevent fungus gnats before they start

I had a terrible fungus gnat problem and cured it with beneficial nematodes. They eat the larvae which is what kills the root system. I haven’t seen a gnat in over 10 months in my greenhouse where before it was like a cloud when I walked in. Hope this helps.
