Late last year Lydian Collective collaborated with Capital Orchestra to create a one-off concert at Cadogan Hall, performing original Lydian Collective and Laszlo Project compositions with an 85-piece orchestra. Watch 'Press Start' as performed by Lydian Collective & Capital Orchestra.
About The Laszlo Project:
Laszlo (aka Aaron Wheeler) is a composer / producer, multi-instrumentalist and founder of the 4-piece jazz funk fusion band, Lydian Collective.
Aaron has released three albums under the name Laszlo, Radial Nerve (2011), Level Five Stage One (2013), and Cartoon Hero (2015). These releases have created an international following and have generated over 1.4 million Spotify streams, as well as hundreds of thousands of KZbin views and plays on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and Radio 3 - with support from tastemakers such as Giles Peterson, Nick Luscombe, Oliver Jones, and Tom Robinson.
Aaron started off his career as a media composer with over 700 production music tracks published with EMI / Sony ATV / Universal. After success in this area of the industry, he decided to set up and invest in a new label to release his own music on and in 2011 Lydian Label was created, under which he released music such as Laszlo, Musicbox (a collaboration with guitarist and composer Todd Baker) and Lydian Collective. In 2011, Aaron signed a deal to publish the Laszlo project with Mute Song.
In 2013, Aaron founded the band Lydian Collective with a view to perform the Laszlo compositions live. Since then, they have performed at venues such as Union Chapel, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Jazz Cafe and 606 Club and festivals such as, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Cambridge Jazz Festival and So What’s Next? Festival in the Netherlands.
After spending a few years in the studio and on the road playing live, Aaron is now focusing on a brand new Laszlo studio project, with the first single ‘Press Start’ generating more than 50,000 streams within the first few months. The new EP will be released in May 2020.

I love Lydian Collective, but for me the version with the Orchestra does not work. Sounds boring / dull to my ears. No offence intended, just not my taste!
