The Ukrainian city of Lviv has turned into a humanitarian hub, in which people fleeing the war are finding refuge.
Lviv now hosts more than 150,000 internally displaced people and has treated over 50,000 casualties.
The unbroken centre was created to provide emergency & long-term care for people suffering life-changing injuries. It includes physical & psychological support, reconstructive surgery, orthopaedics & robotic prosthetics, and a full rehabilitation eco-system.
The European Union supports the project with €19,6 million for the construction of social housing for the patients. Lviv can also count on partnerships at local level with the cities of Gdańsk, Warsaw, Vilnius, and Freiburg.
EU cities & regions commit to long-term support to Ukrainian local & regional authorities.
Peer-to-peer cooperation is crucial to help them continue reconstruction and develop lasting recovery.
