The Future of Rehabilitation Being Pioneered in Ukraine

Tens of thousands of Ukrainians - numbers that haven’t been seen since World War I and II - have lost their limbs in Russia’s full-scale invasion, and the tide keeps rising.
With breathtaking speed, Ukrainians are rushing to open rehabilitation centers to help wounded warriors and victims of Russian bombings get back on their feet.
But unlike in the past, when losing a limb often meant becoming a so-called “invalid” - someone no longer able to fully be a part of society - new, innovative rehabilitation centers like Superhumans Center in Lviv are at the forefront of a new kind of rehabilitation center that aims to change the narrative.
Superhumans Center aspires not just to provide prosthetic limbs - but also hope, healing, and a path back to life.

Ukraine and Ukrainians have been showing us more than we knew for some time, and I believe may show us still more- a lot more. I can only wish they had not paid such a terrible price for the lessons. Slava!

its weird to say im so happy to see this! because i DO think it's sad that so many have lost limbs. But since that is the card that was dealt, im so glad this place exists and i notice that the prosthetics are superior not only to the russian ones ive seen, but superior to those ive seen in the uk (not that iv seen many mind) this center really does seem to be top of the world class! although not mentioned, im certain that psychological help is available for PTSD and phantom limb pain etc. It's certainly something i would be interested in helping, helping these guys live a full life again if i was still working and im SOOOOOO glad they arent hiding their prosthetic legs, not feeling shame and so pleased attitudes are adjusting, not 'othering' disabled folk. I have a neurological disability, so i get a taste of it now n then

The upheaval in people’s lives that Putin has caused is beyond wicked and is unforgivable. Thank heavens for this centre and hopefully ongoing support for its work. Congratulations to Buffet and the other celebs for donating money. To the Ukrainians … you are AWESOME in every way.
