Don’t claim it as yours sister. Many times things aren’t leaving us because we have claimed it as our portion. Instead of saying “my mental illness” declare you have the mind of Christ, you have perfect peace because your mind is stayed on Him. Declare by His stripes, you are healed in Jesus’s name. Also, some things are uprooted by throwing a fast in there along with prayer. Pray about it. I stand in agreement with you for total healing and deliverance in Jesus’s name. Bind any roots of anything in the bloodlines as well because sometimes things are passed down.

Read Battlefield of the mind.. I was suffering from depression and had no clue.. somehow I found the book in my apartment..my mom gave it to me years prior .I opened it and read it.. I read it 4 times and started noticing huge difference..the 4 th time I looked up every scripture listed in the book in the bible and read it straight from the Bible. You have to continue reading the Bible.. look for scripture that had to do with rest and peace in God. Also Joyce Meyer has a book pursuit of peace. I hope this helps some..it's a start

It is a tough job to comfort people who have been hurt and you come from a background where you can share that burden and understand it and in that you are able to encourage people and give them hope and trust. Your background made you a healer for all who hurt. Pastors who don't have that background often burn out because they can't find the words to comfort and heal and they start to doubt God and themselves. They need to remind themselves and be reminded that they were called for a reason and they are doing the Lord's work as He wants them to do

I have always struggled with anger , resentments, and unforgiveness. I have been working on it with a therapist and 12 step sponsor, and it is getting better. I was told that resentments only hurt you, not the wrongdoers. I had to write down my resentments and how they affected me to see the damage to motivate me to let go. I also had to write down my part in the resentments so I could see where i was in the wrong, make amends, change behaviors, build my character and reconcile relationships if appropriate. Obviously there are some situations you don't play a part like if you were abused. I really get into psychology and human behavior so I like to understand why people act how they do for example mental illness. It helps to have compassion on them and to wish them well. This is NOT justifying or condoning it just helps to understand, have compassion, and wish them well. Its also not good to get revenge, not only because of consequence but they will get their karma and there will be justice. If it motivates them to change and make anends be happy for them.
