Hi, ( new here), thank you for your fab videos that I've stumbled across....a few questions please. Where do you get those jars from with the screw lids? Where do you buy new screw lids ( lug lids I believe?). Would you use the lid and ring type to? Have just bought a presto canner.... Do you cover the jars with water? Where do you find the elevation pressure? Once it comes to pressure, how does it stay at that pressure for day 30 minutes,? Do you leave them in the canner for 5 mins before removing? Love that your from Australia!! Sorry about the questions....do you have another site too,?

@@BeeBee-v7l The jars are recycled store bought ones, I use lids about 4 times then discard search online for lids I haven't replaced any yet. I have more canning videos that I go into great detail on the process of canning.

Hi Tess! I've dry canned potatoes in chunks and for chips and they're great. I'm going to do some carrots now 'cause they look way better than the carrots packed in water. I really don't like how they are so full of the water that you have to drain them for half an how before you put them on a plate and when they're heated you've still got a puddle of water under them! I'm having a lot of trouble getting affordable lids (I checked Amazon AU yesterday and one seller wanted over $200 for a pack of 100 Forjars lids! I was floored. I've been getting a few Weck jars when I can but they're expensive although you don't have to replace the lids and the gasket lasts for ages but I like the idea of using the pasta sauce jars. How many times do you use the lids? Thanks for your video. 💜

@@tessearle4828 Thanks for the reply Tess! I've found a few jars that I think would work. I've also found a place that sells canning jars here in Australia and they have the same lids! They're pretty well priced too as far as I can tell. I'll let you know what it works out to with shipping but the jars get cheaper the more you buy. The company is Pack My Product. I sent them an email and got a response and she said they're suitable for pressure canning. Thanks again Tess!💜

Thanks for subscribing these fit pint jars not home to measure take a lid with you when you buy new ones and measure them there.

@@bobstar8773 whatever jars you are using you measure from the inside of the lid I don't order on line for the reason not sure if they are accurate
