I think you are right, you can stretch yourself too thin, but I started after Xmas, I’ve had 3 days with no work since then, I do pressure washing, gutter clearing, gutter, fascia and soffit cleaning, gardening, I’ve laid a couple small patios, window cleaning and have built up a £1400 a month round. Had I just have stuck to pressure washing I wouldn’t have been anywhere near as busy and although I’ve spent a lot on equipment, I have it now and can take on all sorts of work. I’m doing my PA1 & PA6A next week too 🤪

Sage advice from such a young man! Definitely a very good idea to stay in your lane. Jack of all tools, only ends up with money waisted on tools collecting dust, or corroding in the garage because you don't need them, or just can't find them in the rare event you do. Thank you for taking the time to share.

100% switch to the 3/4 hose and the shut off valve. Done this myself and fills up the tank so much quicker and tank very rarely goes below 3/4 full now. Thanks for all your advice

Great video mate, I'd love to see you doing a video on all the chemicals you use and what each one is for, because there's so many in the market it's quite daunting

Great tips. Just noticed you using a gutter vac to empty gulley. One thing that might be worth you looking at is a pond vac! I recently bought one for cleaning out our pond and the way it works might be handy for you. Basically it sucks water up and when the vac is full it shuts off and then auto drains via a second hose. then it auto switches back to sucking water up! It does need to be a foot or 2 above the area that you want to drain into as the drain is gravity.

Morning Jake, I’ve used white vinegar it’s just as effective as any weed killer, don’t need a license and it’s miles cheaper than any commercial weed killer.

Just found you on here, I like you have a similar setup, though would you recommend a buffer tank fitted into the van (I currently run with a wheelie bin setup) Thanks

I would rinse any chemicals off and treat with wood preservative. Biocide has some preservative properties but proper wood treatment is better for the wood.

I needed this advice so much just did my second job and it was a nightmare ( I had fun pressure washing tho) the customer misunderstood the price (aka tried to scam me) and I think i undercharged. I want to invest in a surface cleaner cause the job took so long with the turbo but to do that I need a new pressure washer and a van to carry the the tank so for a while I’m gonna take smaller jobs ❤ also loved the vid.

Was interested In your tank float valve, can you fit it right at the top of the top of the tank at the side , so you don't lose much water volume carrying capacity?

Yes mate you can also get the vertical mounted ones instead of side mounted if that helps

Good advice. But with services I do go with the opposite option I’ve found having a range of services has kept me ocupid with atlest about a job a week. When if I was focused on a few I would of only done 3jobs out of the 15or so since start my business. But I do see where you have come from though with extra equipment costs. But with that said it’s still Ruth and I try to lead my business by doing something every day to push it forward and gain customers. But I’m not put off and am aware the first year or so will be Ruth.

Great video mate, very informative 👌 Do you have your Pa1 and Pa6 for applying biocide? And do you need it for hypo? I’m looking to get into the industry but can’t get a definitive answer. Happy to spend money on the correct courses but not if it’s unnecessary. Thanks pal and keep up the great videos 👍

Thanks mate. No I don't have a licence for anything. As long as you're only using biocide after cleaning, instead of using it as a pesticide I think you're fine. Don't quote me on that though

One big tip only buy a jet wash where you can get it fixed or buy parts

My advice is do a full risk assessment before taking on any work and that includes the customer!. Look for issues like drainage as mentioned and point out any potential problems and what the outcome will be. That way you cover your backside.

Take it from me. Don't waste your money on a PA1 AND PA6. Common sense and half a brain is all thats needed. Plus who really cares. Great video on stuff you forget you know.
