PressurePal feeders are designed for typical systems with 10-25 psi operating pressure. SolarPal are designed for systems with 25-35 psi operating/static pressure (which is common with solar systems since solar collectors are often mounted high on the roof).
Q: Is pressure setting adjustable?
A: Yes: it is adjustable 10-25 psi for PressurePal and 25-35 psi for SolarPal.
Q: Are these units compatible with glycol?
A: Yes, up to 50/50 water/glycol mix.
Q: Does the feeder actually pressurize the system?
A: Yes. A pressure switch will turn the pump on when the system pressure falls below the feeder pre-set pressure.

Protect against a leak or damage? More like feed a leak and cause more damage. Now older boiler and radiator systems can and do leak, so a makup system might be nice. On a modern hydronic system however, you really should have no leaks, and this system would charge the system and just set there doing nothing but taking up space. Your best defense against a leak is a low pressure switch, not a makeup pump, as the drop below working pressure would be the first hint of trouble. The hydronic boiler I currently use incorporates a system low pressure cutout feature as part of its control scheme. Now using one of these to initially charge a system might make the job easier, but filling and purging can also be done typically with a far less expensive submersible pump and bucket to circulate fluid and expel air. An equally inexpensive garden pump sprayer can do the final system pressurization after all the air has been purged. These basic items are all that is necessary for subsequent maintenance…

Tell me if unlimited water from a auto feeder would be better then the 6 gallons in this during frozen pipe season it’s a good idea

@@joeyt54321 neither sounds like a good idea. First off, if it is even remotely possible that your hydronic system could freeze, it must be filled with a medium that cannot freeze(antifreeze). Fluid freezing in a system is not an option, period!. Second: if your modern hydronic system is leaking enough to require a make up system, it is broken, and you need to fix it… a low pressure switch in the system will alert you to any problems…
