if you still want a jellyfish i suggest buying the upside down jellyfish. They require minimum feeding because like corals they are photosynthetic. You also dont need a special tank for them but you cant keep anything in that aquarium except upside down jellies cuz they have remote controlled stingers and will sting everything around them.

Great video, hopefully you can learn to forgive the jellyfish with time! A couple of tips about keeping jellyfish that may be useful to everyone: when using dry jellyfish foods, make sure they are fully hydrated before feeding! We recommend letting the food sit in a cup of tank water for 5 minutes before feeding. Also with jellyfish foods: dry foods are super potent. Like serious jellyfish steroids. To prevent water fouling and overfeeding, feed them just a little each day. It takes roughly a fifth of the dry food to feed them compared to live brine shrimp. A lot of people make the mistake of over feeding their jellyfish. Keep the videos coming!

0:50 I think that shouldn't be allowed, you don't think clearly when you're drugged and in this case dont feel pain either, so the hospital should determine if it really is safe for the patient to sign out. Normally I think the patient should get to make their own choices, of course with guidance from the doctor but they have to be sober or close to at least. But interesting video otherwise. I dont have any aquarium but would like to keep jellyfish one day because they're pretty (not sure if I ever will). But it sounds more complicated than I first expected

I had a very large tank in my basement in london, which was a bit of a sin bin for old sea water, and pieces of collected rock which were in the process of decision making. there was no air pump or filter and it was generally clear. On one occasion I noticed one of the rocks had scyphistoma attatched and soon there were ephyra in the water. there was plenty of food available in such a large volume of water and very soon there were little moon jellyfish pulsing around. As you say facinating for a while, but I found the novelty run out of steam very quickly.

Good thing you didn't pee your wound! Contrary to popular belief, peeing on a jellyfish sting actually worsens the effects of the Jellyfish barbs. Keep vinegar on hand whenever you're in waters where jellyfish lurk. Vinegar won't kill the barbs, but it'll give you more time to get to the ER.

loooooool!!! I laughed so hard with the plastic bag joke! They look so beautiful and I bet it's relaxing to watch them float around. But it's so much work! And what happens if you have to go away for a week? A friend needs to be trained on how to grow the shrimp etc, and be willing to commit to feeding them at least once a day... Also it's not cheap to buy all the equipment and their life span is up to a year.

I just think that they are not great pets for most people. Especially the point that they don't give you anything back. They just look cool and if you are a fanatic for aquatic animals, have experience with aquariums, like animals just to look at and are responsible enough to take proper care, then this might work. I would like jellyfish tbh and I would not mind the care. But I am also more interested in the weirder animals and the only common pets that I like are cats and even them I don't own.
