As for Bluey, there are things written in for the parents to connect to. During the episode that Preston mentions, the dad that is freaking out is doing so, in part, because it’s his fault. He changes the rules which starts the drama. And all the other parents are giving him a hard time. But in the end, his version teaches all the kids a valuable lesson, and you see that all of the kids become better people because of it. It’s the best kids show I have ever seen.

Andor has its problems, as does all Star Wars, but writing-wise it's up there with the best in the franchise. Certainly the most mature Star Wars has gotten to date.

About watching Bluey to learn another language, this is a good idea. One trick that really helps (with or without kids) is watch an episode in the target language with English subtitles once paying attention to what's being said compared to the English text. Then rewatch the same episode with no subtitles and try to follow what's being said. Basically first watch is for the comprehension and the second is for the immersion. Since the videos are so short, you pick up more than doing this with 30 minutes shows, hour long dramas, or two hour movies. Also, if you do this with Peppa Pig, slow the video down to 0.75x cause it was purposely sped up in the original and sounds more natural slowed down no matter the language.

Apart from Andor (which is a masterpiece), I’d personally rank Return of the Jedi higher than all of the live action Star Wars TV shows. RotJ is a mess overall but the emotionally resonant moments and payoffs to plot points established in ANH and EST make it a satisfying experience. Nostalgia definitely plays a part, but I’d still happily rewatch RotJ, warts and all. The live action SW shows also struggle in the writing department but the new or returning characters feel flat. Din Djarin has far more screen time than the OT characters, yet his character arc pales in comparison to any of the main cast. SW: Kenobi at best added nothing meaningful to his story, at worst damaged his character due to the writing choices in his series. Andor shows the current production team is more than capable of creating amazing sci-fi when given a good script, so I hope future projects are closer in quality to that show than the prior live action series. I can’t currently see myself rewatching any of the live action SW shows other than Andor, they’re just empty calories to me.

Lmao that Star Wars Theory guy got absolutely crucified by his own audience when he started doing Andor watch parties and reviews. Literally half the comments were something to the effect of "lol not enough pew pew?". And it only got worse. He took SO much heat from Star Wars fans. You could tell his whole bubble popped after that. He really thought he was the spokesman of that fandom. And then the whole Internet "little bro'd" him. Andor is absolutely S tier at the top. The Last Jedi is F tier. Everything else is in between.

That film had a lot hanging on the answer to that 'good question, for another time', and when that answer turned out to be a huge disappointment it kind of coloured the first movie in retrospect. I'm not sure I'd be able to rewatch Ahsoka knowing all that build-up leads to those final two episodes. ...bit like Game of Thrones sadly.

@@jay21789Yeah my major issue with the show is that I felt having it animated so the Voice Actors can return would do better since the live action audience is big enough for a lot of people to have not seen Clone Wars or Rebels, so context is lost. Also, the Book of Boba Fett has show Luke is doing jack shit. From the known lore his first student is Ben Solo and Ben is far too young at this point to have been taken. Ben was born in 5 ABY, one year and four days after the Battle of Endor. Ben was taken under Luke in 15 ABY. So, there is zero reason not to have the guy who survived a fight with Vader and Sidious on a journey to deal with Thrawn and two unknown force users. I wish they'd at least give an excuse.

It is a truly fascinating movie in that regard Luke and Vader are great and the effects of the space battle are great but honestly other than that the movie is pretty poor all he had to do was have it take place on the imperial capital and add some lines and scenes about more people rallying to the rebellion and having the momentum to fight the empire on equal terms maybe have a mole with others ready to stir stuff up for the main assault and that could be Hans mission if only he hadn't fired Gary Kurtz we could well have had such a thing

Thanks to a quality 4 hour fan edit of The Hobbit (admittedly, still a rough final 40 minutes), I've come to enjoy inspired fan edits of overly long movies and series. A fan edit of Kenobi for instance tightened the scenes creating a good quality 3 hours. I'm wondering how ranking of Clone Wars and Rebels by season would be if each season was cut down to movie length so those gems could shine without being buried under episodes of crap.

When it comes to the Force Awakens, I LOVE the early scenes where we're introduced to Kylo, Finn, Rey, and Oscar Isaac's character. Basically everythinf up until the return of Han Solo had me genuinely excited for the potential of these characters. After that, with the exception of Kylo's scenes and the forest lightsaber battle, you could see the cracks in the sequel trilogy start to form with the forced call-backs, the old cast overshadowing the new, and the unresolved mystery boxes. Last Jedi is a messy, messy movie and it reinforces how stupid an idea it was to rush these movies out with different directors, but it's also the film in the Trilogy that Ifound the most enjoyment with, just for how weird it lets itself be. As for Rise of Skywalker... This story is true: About 2 weeks after it came out, I was trying to decide whether or not to bother going to see it. Then I remembered that I had ALREADY SEEN IT. I'd gone the previous weekend, and it had left so little impact that it took actual effort to remember anything besides "stupid knife map" and "Palpatine does something?"

Return of the Jedi has its problems but it has alot of good stuff aswell. The Ewoks suck but the first act and last act are good but everything in-between is what is a mess. Revenge of the Sith is a S tier for me so is the Clone Wars show. Last Jedi Rise of Skywalker Obi Wan and Book of Boba are all E tier for me. They are bottom of the barrel and Force Awakens is dragged to a D because of the other movies in its trilogy.

Hey! Don't you diss the ewoks! The thing that makes them great is one simple thing, they are cute teddy bears and they are also cannibalistic little shits. At the start of the movie they wanted to eat Luke and the gang, and at the end of the movie they are using Stormtrooper helmets as drums. Where are the stormtroopers who wore them? Eaten probably! And one of the greatest Star Wars scenes ever is in the Old Republic where the player character is talking to a Ewok abouth whether it's okay for the Ewok to eat them after they die or not.

Love is much stronger then long lost father. If Rey fell in love with Kylo and he tells her that they will work together to make changes in the first order and redesign it. Logically a women in love would fall for her and it would make a much more interesting story. Leaving them in charge of the new republic together.

Also, never at any point in the movie, it was indicated that Rey was in love with Kylo (he did seem to have a creepy, unhealthy obsession with her, but all she wanted to do was redeem him, to prove to her teacher that fighting for the ones you love is better than being a recluse).

It's really baseless to say that TLJ didn't set up for a third film. You don't need to have a literal cliffhanger like TESB to lead into a third act. TLJ leaves Kylo in charge of the First Order, but humiliated in front of his troops and mindscrewed by Luke. Rey is going to carry the Jedi torch while still innovating upon it, a synthesis between her idea and Luke's/Kylo's idea. Episode IX should've taken place 10 years after TLJ. Have Kylo and Rey be in very different places but still along that trajectory that TLJ set up. It would've balanced out the 10 year gap between TPM and AOTC too.

Saying Obi-Wan is "boring/forgettable" is SUCH AN UNDERSTATEMENT. The writing is laughibly horrendous, the directing is attrocious (Leia chase scenes, Anime fight scene), the characters are annoying and unlikable and I genuinely cannot name a single "strong performance" in the whole show. This is the equivalent of somebody taking a shit in your bowl of cereal and you complain about the soggyness of the cornflakes 😂

Return of the Jedi is a fucking great movie and I'm tired of pretending it isn't, I'm convinced anyone who dogs it hard have just never seen the theatrical cut because George Lucas fucked with Jedi worst of all in those God awful special editions. If you've never seen the theatrical cuts do yourself a favor and get a VCR and a box set of em because it is a night and day difference. I used to be a "Eh Star Wars has 1 or 2 good movies, a couple ok ones, and then bad ones" kinda guy but now I fully believe the entire original trilogy is a masterpiece.

I will always love the season 2 finale where Ezra, Ahsoka, Maul and Kanan face off against the Inquisitors and then the Vader reveal of him descending on his tie fighter. Very cool but....there were way more episodes in that season that weren't good. Same with Clone Wars. I'm not going to grade it on a few good ones when those were rare

After S05Ep13, that ends a silly arc of R2 everything is pretty great, with the exception of two episodes with JarJar and Mace We have Maul getting Mandalore, Ahsoka temple bombing, Fives arc, Banking clan arc, Yoda arc, Pyke Syndicate and the final arc. So after that mid point on S5 we have a continuity of some of the best SW stuff out there. Rebels I would agree that is way more of a mixed bag. I wad expecting a huge tone shift after "dark Ezra" (that walker scene is GOAT lmso) but suddenly we get some goofy again mixed with great stuff

So if I could rate separate seasons like with Mando, I would definitely put S6 and S7 of CW on S tier and the rest in B along Rebels But yeah, may different opinions. Also would be too time consuming doing a review of season per season of 11 seasons between CW and Rebels

@@rodrigopaim82 Regardless of separating seasons or not, CW is just objectively better than rebels though. Even pre S5, CW is much darker and more serious than rebels. Rebels is afraid of portraying violence and thus can't handle mature themes. CW is brutal and actually takes it's audience seriously, thus it does not have this problem. I'd say roughly 50% of pre S5 CW is trash but at least 95% of rebels is UTTER GARBAGE. Also, the characters in CW (Anakin, Asokha, Ventress, Maul, Obi-Wan, Rex, FIves) are so much more fleshed out and interesting than in Rebels (Looking at you Sabine and Zeb).

Rogue One is B for me. It has some high-highs and low-lows. Any time a character makes a "motivational speech," it doesn't ring true for me. Also some of the characters don't need to be there/are too cringy for my taste. The whole "I am one with the Force" mantra just made me gag every time, but otherwise i didn't hate the character. Same kind of thing with the other characters who are kind of just bloat. Rewatches haven't changed my opinions, unlike some of the other non-S tier shows/films where rewatches bring them all toward a C, "meh." RO is solid B or B+, but not A, unfortunately. Too many cooks and no commitment to spend the money and take the time to fully follow through on the direction/motivations for all the characters in the final version of the movie.

Rise of Skywalker is literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life, usually even if a movie is bad if I'm in a theater I can turn my brain off and enjoy it but that wasn't even remotely possible with Rise of Skywalker. Worst experience I've had in a movie theater, and I literally almost died watching Shrek 4 in theaters so that should tell you how bad it is.

Imo, Star Wars has had: 2 great movies (New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, even if A New Hope was basically ripping off Hidden Fortress and such). Don't agree at ALL with Preston going "revolutionary" lol. At least story/character/etc. 1 mostly great movie with a slow start (Rogue One) 1 good movie (but it retread A New Hope, Force Awakens) 3 Ok movies (Clone Wars and Rise of the Sith, Return of the Jedi; flawed, but they had entertaining enough aspects to em) And the rest were meh/bad. I'm real disappointed what they did to Thrawn too... the books are there and perfect, just use em :(

Ahsoka ignores the use of a better cast and characters just by being live action, Thrawn(who’s supposed to be a genius) is a fucking idiot and let’s Ezra live for 10 years, Ahsoka doesn’t go to Luke or Leia for help despite presumably knowing them both(we’re still missing those first interactions/conversations btw) Ahsoka meets Anakin post ROTJ and they barely discuss his redemption if at all, and again they don’t mention Luke or Leia. There’s just a plethora of obvious issues and on top of it all Rosario Dawson who is an actual good actress gets nothing to do and the same goes for Winstead. The show should’ve been animated so they could keep Eckstein, involve the OT, and not be so heavily restricted by all the live action elements on top of the shitty writing.

It's such an uplifting story to watch Luke go from his dark night of the soul at the start of the movie, realize that he's lying to himself about wanting the Jedi to end, lapsing into a more philosophical rationalized version of his reluctance to heed the call to adventure he had in the beginning of Episode IV, and then bring back hope to the galaxy in spectacular fashion on Crait. Think of the part where he's going to burn down the tree-temple on Ahch-To. Yoda stops him, then Yoda burns the tree by calling down Force lightning, and Luke dives in to save the sacred texts. Yoda gave Luke what he claimed to want to show him that he didn't really want it. It was touching. And a lot of people didn't really get that on their first viewing, and didn't realize that Yoda felt fine burning down the temple because the sacred texts had already been taken by Rey either, so, another point to rewatchability.

Clone wars is way better than rebels. The good moments in Rebels are few and far between, whereas, entire arcs of CW are amazing. CW is also way darker and much more mature than Rebels and actually takes its audience seriously.

I’m putting madelorian s1 and s2 as A tier. They were really good and season 2 ending I absolutely LOVED. I’m putting obiwon as D super boring. I’m putting return of the Jedi as A. I saw it when I was 9 and love Luke. I really loved the Jabba the hit throne room and beginning 3rd of the movie.

Gotta remember Star Wars is for Kids! I liked them in early days but as with Christmas and tooth fairy by age 12/13 the sheen is wiped away and reality is all of star wars is pretty crap/dull/idiotic as an adult, only reason Andor appeals is it's not for kids really, Mando and Boba are awful boring for both adults and kids, couldn't be arsed to watch Ashoka.

i disagree with carmines take on rebels and clonewars rebels is a stupid kids show with some moments of great stuff. it however has not a single good episode. just good moments in a bad episode. Clonewars has some filler bullshit but for the most part it has fantastic arcs. and you can skip the bullshit episodes. can't do that with rebels. the good stuff there is burried in shit episodes that no one wants to see

I never understood the reasoning behind separating the 3 seasons of Mandalorian. Everyone does it, was always curious why? I get that it's episodic, but there is an overarching story to it (like grogu and mando's relationship). Part of why season 3 is so disappointing is because of the previous 2 seasons and what they established. So to me it just doesn't track to separate the seasons. Combined, I'd say Mando is A tier, trending down if season 4 continues to drop in quality. Also, thank you Carmine for placing the OG clone wars in its rightful S-tier.
