Hi Preston, I have a PHD in engineering and this was on a a pre-semester test. So basicaly the force of the faaling object needs to be more than the gravitational pull of the center of mass on the object. If the objects falling was say an anvil than it would fall. Also the center of mass was behind the edge of the table so the supported gravitational square support was over supported.

At four minutes and 20 seconds the ruler hack it’s because when you have the paper on top of it, the paper has to move all the air and air is a.k.a. heavy so how it’s heavy it’s hard to move and that’s why the ruler didn’t move.
