No, some of us don't only feel the presence of evil we have seen it. My spouse and I have felt the presence of evil we have seen these demonic beings. Thirty-five years ago we led a youth group these kids were the kind of kids that most churches were intimidated with. These kids were troubled kids, kids that needed God desperately, some orphaned some from broken and troubled homes, some were being abused. The boys were very needy. We were sent by God's hand to this church with a pastor that was open and kind and the sweet pastor asked us to lead them. We took them on outings taught them scripture and had great fun with them learning who the messiah is through scripture through the leading of the Holy Spirit. We ministered in the church as in our recording studio. My husband was a wonderful vocalist, songwriter and built our studio foundation up. This drew many ministries to our studios especially as a means to record and use their music to reach the lost with the gospel message. What happened next was one of the most amazing things that I for one have ever experienced. My friend and I had been in a prayer group for about 4 hours, after the prayer group we both decided to go together to a local business to browse. we entered the store as my friend walked in front of me quickly and I hung back following her. Then at the back wall of this place, I saw a person that looked angelic beautiful as unusually tall. As I saw this being approaching me and when it reached my side it suddenly transformed. It was cloaked as a beautiful being and then it showed its true self. It was a demon in reptilian form. I was astonished but not afraid our four-hour prayer beforehand was covering us. I rushed over to my friend after I yelled out to her saying did you see that! she shook her head up and down saying YES. I caught up to her and I said I am NOT going to describe what I saw,, I want you to describe to me first what you saw. She described exactly the same details of the being I witnessed. BELIEVE you me if you are in your calling from God you will get a show of force whether it appears before you or not. Amazing and wonderful is that the youth group now grown adults, became strong men of God the young girl's strong women of God. One became a bible bomber in China became fluent in the language and reached many in the country.

When at Bible college I was fortunate to have a whole course named “Church and Angels” which took a decent look at supernatural beings in Scripture. Also, my prof’s were championing “Biblical Theology” in contrast to “Systematic Theology” where “Biblical Theology” emphasized understanding Scripture in light of its original context (e.g., literary context, cultural context, larger text in which a passage is found, etc.). This was in ~1988-1992 ~”Context is king”

I use the long ones to combat insomnia. I love his calming voice and I get to learn a lot about the Bible as well. We need more scholars to follow in his footsteps, and give it to us straight. One of the biggest problems we've had with Christianity is too many people trying to hide the Bible from the average person. The Catholic Church is a great example.

@@sammcrae8892- the scriptures are watered down now. Because they cannot reconcile this verse... "I form light and I create darkness. @DGood618

JusHanginAroun Thanks for checking. I was mostly joking. I’m general, Preston has been “wrecking” my faith by providing compelling discussions about controversial topics e.g. annihilation. He’s also been significantly improving my faith through his thoughtful perspective and willingness to “go where the text leads.” This interview was mind blowing, but seems to clarify some otherwise confusing aspects of the Bible. In this interview they state the real issue at hand. We must learn to think like a 1st century Jew. As NT Wright says, we must answer 21st century questions with 1st century answers, not 20th century questions with 16th century answers. That’s how Preston has been wrecking and saving my faith.

@@teenherofilms ok... the scribes were not uneducated. They had to commit the pentateuch to memory and recite it word for word by the age of 12, along with every other good jew of their day. Today they're seen as antiquated and ignorant because Newton and Copernicus didn't rise up from their ranks, but most of us today in the Age of Information have a hard time reciting our phone numbers when prompted, or to research a thing more than googling it and picking the first reference as the gospel truth. As far as relevance, the Bible addresses the affairs of the human heart, not how to boil an egg. It helps me to be a better person because it lays bare my thoughts and attitudes. The science we rely on today to know where the sun goes at night came from scholars who were prompted by devotion to God and His Word to seek to understand His creation. Yeah, I'd say the Bible is relevant.

Michael connected all the dots for me. For ten years myself and a selected few met with our pastor, who in my humble opinion, was the best expository teacher in New England. It was serious. We dealt with evil things. Ironically the church had it's greatest growth spurt. We went from a church of 40 to a church of over 600 over time. As good of a teacher as our pastor was (retired now), he never was at Michael's level. He has no questions now!. ❤❤❤❤

@@spitflamez I disagree with you in one way. It is RH negative blood that came as a result of the sons of God known as The watchers, descended to the earth. Sarah was given Isaac by God, the angels that fell from heaven had the same power to do so, led by Lucifer the son of the morning in his rebellion against God because he wanted to be worshiped, he wanted to be higher than God but he never could and he never will be. He was the one that convinced Adam and eve to eat the forbidden fruit, that is how sin entered the world from the rebellion. Behind every civilization, there is a principality responsible for that, all the principalities and host of wickedness and darkness how always come from the enemies of God. They were the ones that gave ancient technologies, And taught them things such as astrology. All the angels that came on to the daughters of men, we’re bound up with chains of darkness and cast into the abyss, the prison mentioned in the Bible, in that place are all the wicked angels who sinned. Spirits wander across this world, and through the other dimensions of time. Quantum physicists have recorded 11 dimensions of time and space. Through our actions, doors are opened what about we do, that is why it is important that everyone of us should pray and read the Bible for is the meat that gives us strength to combat The darkness of this age. Read Romans 10 and Ephesians 6 to know how to battle these principalities of darkness. And now I will mention this, through our Lord Jesus Christ we are saved and Freed from bondage. If we believe on him, we shall not walk in darkness. That is why it is important for us to confess and repent for sins we have all committed. Even the Egyptian pharaohs have that same one type, it is the blood type of the royal family, our modern day rulers have the same blood type as the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. May your life be free from evil and bondage, in the name of our Lord Jesus, amen.

@@memarie9373 um yes, obviously you have never been to a Pentecostal church. I also remember my mom not believing me when the teacher, about 70+ told us in bible study, “pre-teen” that she died, was buried and resurrected three days later and is amongst us to guide us. Yep, same Sunday school teacher. You can believe what you want, i was forced to go to Pure Holiness Church of God churches (family on my mom’s side) where they took up live serpents, had alligators crawling under the pews. I attended until i was 15 then got a farm license and started working a lot, mostly on weekends because that is when i could get hours. There were still blue laws that prevented a lot of businesses from being open before 12 on Sunday but many open hours since people wanted Sunday off. I spent 5 years attending Royal Rangers with the Assembly of God churches which was actually a great program for young men, i am not that big on AOG since they basically are a 501c3 business (totally different story). I played drums for some time with the church band, and also ran the audio, recorded the preachers sermons, dubbed a cassette tapes that were sold at the end of each service and donated to prison and nursing home ministries. So. Yeah, i can tell you a few times i was asked to leave, and not all were shining moments for me. Funny part is, as much as I was told to read the Bible, seek the truth, when i actually did read it when in my mid 20’s and actually understood what i was reading and used an oxford concordance and Dake’s reference study bible to see the original Greek and Hebrew words, i learned many churches are not abiding by what the Bible actually says to do. Many preachers preach a sermon, but don’t really preach the Bible they just “proof text” to rationalize fund raising for some new project, the church mission statement, the church program etc. so please when I tell you i was kicked out for question the BSC old lady that btw donated the land the older and newer church was built on, they didn’t hesitate to ask me to leave. Most of the men in the church were Freemason’s or Shriners worshiping God on Sunday and false gods Thursday night. Have you ever attended a Pure Holiness Church of God with snake handlers in the South, my mom was raised that way, made her own clothes always wore dresses until i was 12 she never cut her hair, because that is the way my nana, her mom raised her. Trust me, getting kicked out is very normal. You wouldn’t believe that children get spanked during a service in front of everyone? Ok doubting Thomas, as I am a true believer in Jesus, i just don’t care for organized religion that co-opts churches to raise money, I still read my bible and do bible study very regularly. I can understand why you are skeptical and am going to pray the Lord reveal to you that your skepticism in unfounded in my case. Take a trip down south, question what is going on in a Southern Baptist, PHCOG, or AOG church and see if they don’t ask you nicely to leave. They do and it isn’t based on whatever you skin color is, but i have seen that too, some of the most racist people I encountered were so called Christians. I am not an Atheist and don’t tell people not to go to church, but anytime you want to have a discussion, a seriously one about how 501c3 churches to more harm to non-believers i would gladly take you to task on it.

So glad I am not alone in the theory that what God wants is to live with us... Its the story if the entire Bible. He lives with Adam and Eve, then He comes down to actually live among everyone and the Bible ends with God living with us once again.... The star of the Bible is Christ but the story is about God wanting to live with us, then how we can do that, then how to act once we get to that point. I had a great-aunt who I love dearly. She had an older Farmhouse up in Wisconsin. There were so many places to go and get into when you are young and she only had one rule. She had a sitting room that was beautiful, furnished with antiques. The children were not allowed in that room. When we got older, and learn how to act properly in that particular room we were allowed to go in it. That just reminds me of the end of the story where we live with God. We have to know how to act, and He wants to know that we really want to live with him too. The Earth is a Proving Ground of sorts and Christ is our model.

It is only difficult when what is presented is "out of the box" as compared to what is normally taught about the scriptures. Many western pastors/preachers whom lead their people, they do so from a place of flawed understanding themselves. Even so, perhaps this is not what you meant and I have not taken your meaning. This is funny and it also By the NLT "Then Micaiah continued, “Listen to what the Lord says! I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left. 20 And the Lord said, ‘Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead so he can be killed?’ “There were many suggestions, 21 and finally a spirit approached the Lord and said, ‘I can do it!’ 22 “‘How will you do this?’ the Lord asked. “And the spirit replied, ‘I will go out and inspire all of Ahab’s prophets to speak lies.’ “‘You will succeed,’ said the Lord. ‘Go ahead and do it.’"

Its pretty simple! Noah his wife and his sons had pure Nephilim free blood but only one of his daughter in laws had pure blood lines (the line that Jesus came from and had to be pure) the other two produced Nephilim, giants, and other abominations that we have with us to this day

@@truthbebold4009 I tend to agree with you, His logic in a lot of areas is the sloppyness of a skeptic, which he claimed to be. But in some areas where he is right on, he is really right on. Where he really messed up is in the area of physical mechanics, and another is medical cures of the old world. One that remains today in the middle east, consisting of mixing spittle with clay to kill parasites that cause a certain kind of blindness, I had a friend who grew up over there (Ibrahim Ibrahim) and he actually watched the results happen. When we teach with (in Catholic schools) the Bible we explore the three worlds of the text - what’s on the page, what was going on when it was written and its impact on me the reader. The “inner 10th century BCE Hebrew” seems to fit with “the world of the text” (what was going on when the text was written).

@jorahtheexplorer3262 Cultural context can be useful but none of the 2nd temple Jews taught Jesus the meaning of Scripture. In fact, a large part of Christ's ministry was educating the people on the true meaning of Scripture. The Holy Spirit leads us into all Truth, not 2nd Temple Judaism. What Dr Heiser says about Elohim being a term that refers to all spiritual or non-corporeal beings, and not only to THE one God of the Abrahamic faiths, is also true of the word god. In today’s world, we think of the word God as referring to the one omnipotent creator being. But looking back to polytheistic times, the word didn’t mean a being with those specific attributes at all. And we still use the word that way today when we talk about the likes of Zeus or Thor as gods. These were believed to be very powerful spiritual beings. But they did not create the universe, and they were not omnipotent. They are more similar to entities like the Arch Angel Gabriel or what have you from a modern monotheistic perspective.

I thought much of this was just common knowledge within the Church. Take the commandment "You shall have no other gods before me." I thought that implied there were other gods, or higher beings than us whom people might worship, but only God Most High is worthy of our worship. He created us and sustains us. Any other higher being, angel or whatever, does not receive worship.

Your comment is recent, but it merits a significant discussion (we'll see if it happens). Imo this gets to the ways of interpreting religious ... I'm going to say mythology which betrays my inclinations, but there's probably another word that is neutral as to the perceived truth of the stories. But these sorts of origin stories of judeo-christian doctrine, as with those of other religions, can be viewed as literal truth, metaphorical truth, or fiction. It seems imo like those believers who are more active, rather than passive, in their faith are unwilling and/or uncomfortable in considering anything other than the literal truth of these things, but your point/question absolutely shouldn't be dismissed. Imo stories like that are usually describing fundamental truths about existence, about free will and its consequences for life and society. But at the very least your point has consequences for how believers view heaven or the afterlife. If there is rebellion and/or discord in heaven that is obviously a very different place than most people consider it to be.

There's so much there and so little searching. im not very smart but there's so much happening among us in this world that is undeniable spiritual and the church seems to choose blindness .There are people worshipping evil with ALL there heart and still The church gathers on the popes chosen day to worship for an hour or 2 singing a few songs and making a few points .Jesus said to seek Him truth and you will find Him ! We have to understand who His enemy is and why they hate us right ?I asked The Lord please help me understand and here this is literally 10 minutes after reading the passage ! I do know Jesus Is The Only BEGOTTON SON of GOD and I do believe God is love and would have only wanted His enemies and ours conquered. Things make more sense. Also have wondered about how men learned to make different things and seeing things about alchemy .Then reading Daniel the angel Micheal comes to reveal to Daniel end time vision and tells him he's sent to reveal or teach it to Daniel and there are none that hold with him (Micheal) in these things except for Gabriel .So also have fallen angels taught men thier crafts and twisted truths .

I discovered Dr. Heiser a little while ago, and everything he says just makes the bible make more sense to me. One passage in particular sums up for me the idea if the other "gods". I don't know the exact passage, but it always confused me, until recently. Moses throws his staff down and it becomes a snake. Then the priests of Egypt do it and they're sticks also became snakes. For the longest time, I assumed that they had pulled some sort of sleight of hand, as opposed to Moses having God behind him. What happens next, Moses snake eats the other 2. My original interpretation was God's snake eats the false snakes. Now I understand it as God's showing his domination over actually real little "g" gods, not some street magician pretenders.

Heiser was a blind guide. He was correct in God/Elohim capital "G" and gods/elohim lower case "g" but his application was all wrong. His book the unseen realm falls apart in the first few paragraphs. From Heiser's Chapter 1 Unseen Realm "One such moment in my own life-the catalyst behind this book-came on a Sunday morning in church while I was in graduate school. I was chatting with a friend who, like me, was working on a PhD in Hebrew studies, killing a few minutes before the service started. I don’t recall much of the conversation, though I’m sure it was something about Old Testament theology. But I’ll never forget how it ended. My friend handed me his Hebrew Bible, open to Psalm 82 He said simply, “Here, read that … look at it closely.” The first verse hit me like a bolt of lightning: Psalm 82:1 God stands in the divine assembly; he administers judgment in the midst of the gods I’ve indicated the Hebrew wording that caught my eye and put my heart in my throat. The word elohim occurs twice in this short verse. Other than the covenant name, Yahweh, it’s the most common word in the Old Testament for God. And the first use of the word in this verse worked fine. But since I knew my Hebrew grammar, I saw immediately that the second instance needed to be translated as plural. There it was, plain as day: The God of the Old Testament was part of an assembly-a pantheon-of other gods." >>>>Okay this is from Heiser’s book the “Unseen Realm” Chapter 1 in his opening of this book. Let’s look at the word “pantheon”, this one word changes everything about Heiser’s theory. Heiser’s view of pantheon of other gods is spiritual/non-human/angelic, what most people do not know is that the word pantheon has a dual meaning, so it is not just pantheon spiritual gods. Let’s look at dictionary definiton for the word “pantheon” 1) a group of particularly respected, famous, or important people: somewhat formal : a group of people who are famous or important "the pantheon of the all-time greats" example: a building in which the illustrious dead of a nation are buried or honoured. 2) all the gods of a people or religion collectively: the gods of a particular country or group of people "the deities of the Hindu pantheon" (especially in ancient Greece and Rome) a temple dedicated to all the gods. So with the definition can apply to both 1) people and 2)pagan gods. What Heiser did when it came to Psalm 82, he applied the pagan god (elohim) meaning to the pantheon, which is the second use of the word pantheon, this is where he error's from the first chapter in his book the unseen realm. What Heiser should have done is apply the “FIRST” meaning of the word pantheon to the gods/elohim in Psalm 82, which would be people. When a person applies the “FIRST” meaning Israel now fits in Psalm 82 as the gods/elohim. Israel is Jacob’s decendents made up of 12 tribes. Psalm 82 is totally about Israel (Jacob’s decendents). Israel is the “Chosen People” of God in that time period, Israel is important because Jesus Christ, the Messiah would come through that people group, Jesus came from the tribe of Judah, Judah is how we get the term “Jew” from. So the pantheon of gods/elohim would be Israel all of Israel, which would consist of people that are Judges, Rulers, Kings, Elders and even the common Israelite person.>>"The Chosen People" So when a person Pairs up Psalm 82 and John 10 Israel, Jacob's decendents/12 tribes makes more sense. Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;>>>>>>Israel

The beginning of this sounds a bit like an idea I had concerning " their thoughts being only evil continually " I thought about how even some of the worst humans you can think of have to have some good thoughts at least once in a while. Just what does it take for someone to only think evil continually? I don't think natural humans as bad as they can get are not capable of such continuous evil. I thought it must have been the inherited qualities of the nephilim DNA, the seed of the serpent, that caused men to reach that level. I also am of the belief that not all Nephilim were ' giants ' but most were just carriers of the seed and in the right combinations or concentrations would produce giants.

I've been attempting to "study" the Bible for years. I was brought up by parents who didn't have a great deal of "church" thinking on the Books of the Bible, we concentrated on the OT stories. I attended a Bible School run by a former drug dealer who had an extreme spiritual awakening. I began to question many things in it, and one time I sat down (very determinedly) and tried to look in it for any sign of something I could grab hold of for clear answers to the many questions that were unresolved. I came across the term "Melchizedek" in particular, also noticing "numbers" in the story of Samson (Judges) during another reading. I've since read about the "Bible Code", and am convinced it is a coded book, and one must have knowledge of the mysteries to really derive meaning and direction from it. It is one of (if not the) the most important books we have and it usually goes unmentioned and largely misunderstood. I believe also it can be "decoded" or understood with help from Spirit. You seem to have discovered how to derive meaning using the Hebrew translation. This is what Jesus had told several people who prayed about this subject. He told them to read both translations side-by-side.
@alisonappletree
@alisonappletree 3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, I agree there are hidden "codes" messages and deeper meanings in the bible. I believe if you pray to GOD for understanding, and really want to search for the truth, then you will find things. There are some who believe there are different levels of meaning in scriptures called Peshat, Remez, Derash, and Sod. . . . . Jonathan Cahn has some interesting teachings on deeper understanding of some scriptures . . . . Chuck Missler has some excellent presentations on bible studies, with hidden messages, hidden names, codes and themes throughout the books, "pi" and the mathematical "e" are hidden in there. Jim Staley teachings on "who is the bride" helped with understand the parable of 10 virgins, as did a study on the traditional Jewish wedding. The study about the crimson worm, and also the passover studies by Paul Franklin are really interesting (on you tube channel "Restore the Path" ). On you tube the Bible Gematria channel has interesting videos . . . . . look at 153 fish . . . . I also fine the "biblehub.com" is great for looking at the original Hebrew and Greek words. The Hebrew letters and language is also a really interesting study and again gives more detailed understanding. I liked the Aleph and Tav video on the channel "skfordham". I pray you find this useful in your studies, and that you grow closer to Jesus . . . blessings A

@ 11:00 If all spirit beings, including God the Father, are all 'Elohim' and if divine attributes are only found in the Elohim Yahweh, then how is it that we and how is it that the 'lesser gods' have the attribute of free-will? Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the Father created His divine council and us with Some but not all of God's divine attributes? Having agency is one of God's attributes, right?

While I agree with much of Heiser's analysis, I question his assumption that we MUST confine ourselves solely to a Second Temple Judaism context for interpretation of Scripture. There is much in this tradition that Jesus seems to condemn, and Stephen, before being martyred in Acts, appears to imply excessive superstition among the Jews of his day. There is a reason, after all, that the Book of Enoch and other books are not including in our Bibles (unless you're Ethiopian/Eritrean).

I don't think he's saying to only consider the second temple Judaic perspective; he's saying TO consider it, at all; at present most people are totally ignorant of it. Understanding how the primary audience of Jesus' teachings would have understood them, helps US better understand those messages. We almost exclusively look at the bible with 21st century eyes, which is laughable.

@@cord11fulyes... This person thinks consider= hold fast in this scenario. The problem is, of course, most Christians think it should be read only with modern applications. Most will not/can not see it through another lense because of what they were raised in, taught, or what their worldview will allow them to see

What is awesome about this is that what is being explained is how humanity knows that God exists. It is through the experience of these attributes that we are able to extrapolate what is fully God from the field. This is also why polytheism tends historically to clarify into monotheism. The constitution of God is the summation of His attributes. It is also reasonable to believe that if all things are derived from God, one would find that in His communication is the creation of partial expressions. This is further evidence for God. As partial, incomplete expressions can only exist as dispensations of the whole.

Oh trust me, the powers that be on earth knew all about the gods, etc(initially, the Roman Catholic Church, etc). They just kept it from the poor ignorant masses as long as pos to keep their wealth & power over others. But thanks to technology, open minded believers in Christ like Mike, etc the horse is finally starting to bolt it’s way out of these false shackles!

My Big surprise is...why people still think the Book of Enoch (Enoch 1) is not inspired. I have read it and it is completely scriptural and even exalts Jesus Christ and speaks very highly of salvation obtained by humans through Him. The book also fills in some "missing" pieces of our canon of 66 books. Every christian should get to read it especially after gaining some understanding of the 66 books especially the new testament.

There's a reason why it isn't, I'm guessing through careful examination. There's nothing wrong with reading it, but American "Orthodoxy" (Protestantism) view the Book of Enoch and other books (maybe rightfully so) as almost demonic. It's so taboo that it would be considered so.
