Experience fall in the mountains Grand Teton National Park. Even though this is an autumn road trip, I’m savoring the summer sweetness of all the breathtaking mountain hiking, alpine lake swimming, and scenic drives with views of the Tetons. I’m taking it slow while traveling here, spending long days by the lake and taking my time on some of my favorite trails. Along my many hikes and swims, we will identify native plants and clean up lots of trash from people who don’t understand leave no trace while they travel in nature.

Once led a hike for the Appalachian Mountain Club(AMC)and there was a young woman whose pace matched my own, so we hiked together for miles. I picked up trash along the way and she asked me, "Why do you pick up other people's trash." My response? "Once that trash hits the ground, it's everybody's trash." Hope she got the message. I freaking adore your compassionate yet bad ass attitude Kaylan😉 2 things you said hit home so hard…..”Yeah, there are supposed to be animals on earth. You would see them more if we didn’t destroy their habitat”…..and the other…….”I hate people” as you pick up their trash😖😖. Sadly I say the last all too often🤣. Anyway, I was in the Tetons 2 yrs ago and hiked up to that very turquoise blue alpine lake. A scramble up but so worth it!!! Looks like you were fortunate enough to enjoy it all to yourself🥰🥰🥰

I wish we didn’t have to hate humans but they give us so many reasons ;) speaking of which, thank you for not geotagging that spot haha I got it to myself for a few moments before the hoardes arrived.
