I know many people like you who have been learning this language struggle a lot with the Spanish Past Tense, mostly because you don't have anything such like the Imperfect in English.
Therefore, I try to help you here to understand in an easier way how to master the use of the imperfect and the preterite.
You'll see some hacks which I hope will help you to use both tenses perfectly without checking your grammar book every time you try to speak with the Spanish preterite tense and the imperfect.
