Yes, the pretrip has recently changed and the brake tests must be done first.

Well hello Therese! I hope your doin good. As always these videos are great!! I had been off of Facebook and YT for a long time until a couple months back. Still tryin go get everyone re added. Still 25 in the state of Tenn before I can drive a school bus but luckily I’ve been working with a trainer to get my CDL and P endorsement then when im 25 I’ll re test to get my S endorsement. I love my blue birds so it’s perfect to have this one for demonstration!!

Any updates as to when we will see the new 2024 school bus full inspections and do a video analysis of what happened with the school bus crash in Texas and explan why do buses flip over.

Good morning, I'm in park county Colorado. Do you not have to chock your wheels for any of the pretrip inspection? I'm checking for my state but I did not notice it for your pretrip.

Because we conduct our pretrips on a closed course, we do not need wheel chocks… definitely check with your local test site, for specifics.

Amazing video therese. I have a lot of questions about first student bus job in ohio . lm curious how many weeks or months getting people CDLs license in first student School bus jobs and how is the schedule like going to training can people be able to choose their own schedule or customize it. And when people do apply for First Student will they get hired at the beginning or at the end when they receive their CDLs with the program. My last question is it says on the requirements of the first student bus job that people have to have their driver's license for at least 3 years and i only have mines for at least 2 years in 6 months. I wonder can they hire me. If the training is for example 6 weeks or more and when I do meet that requirement for 3 years how would that process work out because it says in Ohio people get their CDLs if they had a driver's license for at least 2 years or more keep in mind i don't have any criminal history or points on my license so i hope and pray that they will hired me and give me a chance as you can see I'm very passionate i always wanted to drive school bus and when I find out it was a shortage and still is says that until this day 💯

Hey motorcycle guy I cannot speak to First Stident’s hiring practices. I would recommend getting your cDL with a school district which has board owned busses. Benefits are typically much better. The two years they are referring to, is a regular drivers license. It is very likely they will hire you, as long as you can pass the bci background check and fingerprinting. School districts will pay for your classes, and in most cases provide paid training. I hope I have answered your questions. I am not sure where you are in Ohio, but our district is also hiring. I would check with Euclid city schools and the surrounding area, to see if they are board operated. If you see any local school buses, it will say on the buses if they are board owned or not. You can also call the district’s themselves and ask if they have a transportation department.

I believe if you have the vehicle converted, there is no CDL requirement… please check with your local test center for specifics.

Normal is subjective..however In an effort to gain a broader interest in the transportation industry, they are attempting to make the process easier… unfortunately, you have two entities …ODOT and the DOE, disagreeing over how to accomplish this goal. Makes for a host of conflicting views and goals… and even more confusing for those of us trying to manage the training process. I understand your frustration…
