I can't move Talbots. One of the most challenging brands for me to sell. But my sales were up this Summer, so I am happy about that! I am sorry you had slow sales but you will pick it up this Fall, I am pretty sure!

Aw man, not the returns! August has been worse for me than July oddly enough, but things are picking up over the last couple of days. Thank you for sharing!! That Chico's jacket was pretty cute, I'm surprised it took so long - it was a very 'Chico's' piece!

Has this happened to anyone ? I use prime lister and it re lists things as if they were brand new lol

The huge problem with Poshmark are the live shows with the $3 starts on junk from pallets, people sit and watch and time after time it is junk from China that will fall apart, but they claim new with tags, and people will sit and watch them hoping for a deal. They have brought down the price of all items hurting the bottom line for Poshmark as a company as the fee is they collect is also falling due to these cheap garage sale sellers. This is going on daily and looking at the shows, they have a few items that are $3 and make 5 cents. Then it follows that the comments *watchers^ want everything to be 3 or 5 dollars, if they get junk they must not care. The customers who watch think we will all cave and lower prices on rare, vintage, and name-brand quality items and sell them for 5 dollars. It is pathetic that Posh has allowed this to continue, especially when some of the shows are actually people who love to hear their own voice and it goes on and on and on for hours and hours of some preaching about religion, some trying to be funny (spoiler alert no one is funny) or watching sellers who are clearly high or on something, it has turned Poshmark into a rummage sale or worse. The shows hurt Poshmark and sellers, and buyers who are getting literal junk from the shows.
@la61364 ай бұрын
I don’t think most buyers shop from live shows tbh. The views are always extremely low. Even 100 people in a live is very low considering Poshmark has millions of users.
@magyar56154 ай бұрын
@@la6136 When they do buy and they do at the garage sale level shows with starts at $3 nad $5 are bringing the comps down on all similar items because the sellers are desperate and sell things for a loss, I looked at all shows on hot days for shows and of course it was palette sellers and return box sellers giving stuff away, making it a nightmare for everyone.

back to school and Q4 coming up. August a slow month as all the summer months are. Good time to be buying and listing ahead of the Q4 peak sales period. last month I had my best sales month EVER by far this from being a seller the best part of 20 years. ebay promoted listings worked like magic on my stagnante listings!

I’ve only gotten a couple of eBay sales this month, when I previously would get 15-20 sales on eBay per month as a part time reseller. On the other hand, my Poshmark sales have been consistent (just a little less due to the summer slow down). I think eBay punished me in the algorithm because I wasn’t consistently listing. 👎 It was so hard to be consistent, especially during the summer with my kids home all day!

I had an amazing $1,000 sales day last Saturday-most of it came from one stunning Cult Gaia dress! I couldn't believe it. But then, I had 10 cases opened against me, including for that Cult Gaia dress. I haven’t had that many cases in total since I started reselling three years ago. It really deflated me.

That’s why there is benefits to selling new items. Nothing against thrifting but nothing to dispute when item is brand new !!! I like eBay better because no returns for me unless item is damaged or wrong item sent and that like never really happens to me. Again nothing against thrifting but as a reseller I always sell new items. Just less problems for me to deal with as a seller

When I price/list something over $20, it sits and sits. I can quick sell stuff when I list items for under $20. Not much profit, but- stuff sells. The moral of the story is to thrift decent items priced low, (under $5), and quick flip the item by listing it for under $20. (Long time ebay seller). I can’t stand Poshmark. I don’t think my advice translates to Poshmark.

It has drastically changed in the last 18 months since they have allowed anybody to sign up and I feel like it’s over saturated. I am back to listing and I am trying for at least 40 to 80 items a week; however, sales are really slow and I feel like I need to live soon but now everybody expects three and five dollars starts ? @beckyparkco4 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that. Honestly, I think the best place to start is getting more sales so that your percentage of dings and returns isn't quite so high because your number of sales are high. I would try taking your oldest listings and either auctioning them at $1.99 or whatever you're comfortable with or running crazy sales, like 60% off everything or something like that. Clear out what you can for super cheap, get those numbers up, and just get back in eBay's good graces.

Listing consistently is hard, especially with FT jobs, life, etc. I do recall that you set a goal for 2024 to focus on your health and spending time on things that are important outside of work. Sounds like you are crushing that. Lower sales may be worth it from that perspective. 🩷 Have you considered hiring a VA to do the listings? Seems like hiring an editor for your YT has worked out. Thoughts? I am definitely considering it myself.
@beckyparkco4 ай бұрын
I love that you recalled I wanted to take time for myself. It has honestly been lovely. I have tried having people list for me before. It went well when I trained my friends and paid them to do it; problem is, they realized they could make much more money starting their own reselling businesses haha. I haven't looked into having a VA do it - it's not a horrible idea. I think my issue is that aside from my friends, it's been hard finding good help. But please let me know if you find success going own this route, and if so, what you did!
