This yarn better than the bernat for strongness this band be good to hang sides on your glasses
@JaydaInStitches8 ай бұрын
24/7 cotton is definitely better for wearables than the Bernat Handicrafter. The Handicrafter is really more of a workhorse cotton. The 24/7 is strong, but also smoother and less likely to pill.

Hi Jayda. I absolutely love all your tutorials. You explain everything so well and make it easy to understand. You have inspired a lot of my crochet projects. I recently watched your tutorial on the African flower hexagon motif and fell in love with the pattern. I now have a whole slew of African flower motifs but I have no clue how to join them together to form a throw blanket. I would like to make the blanket into a rectangle but I’m clueless on where to begin. Would you be able to do a tutorial on how to join hexagons to make a blanket? Once again, love your tutorials and your bright and cheerful personality.
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brenda, Thank you for watching! We've got some a couple of Hexagon layouts in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4XYiXd6nJt2btU and you can stitch or sew them together just like you would with regular square motifs. I've made 2 full hexagon motif blankets (one adult sized, one baby sized) both of which were in a rectangular format. They didn't have straight edges because I didn't use any half motifs (I liked the "postage stamp" edging) 😊

That's a cute idea! You'd have to change colours for each half circle and then do the same colour pattern on the way back. Might get a little complicated changing colours unless you were only using 2 and carrying the one you didn't use as you crocheted.

I love this! I don't have 24/7 cotton, but would Comfy Cotton by Lion Brand work just as well?
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Caren, Comfy Cotton will certainly work too, it just won't have the "polish" that the 24/7 does because it's not mercerized.
@mariarichards82292 жыл бұрын
I absolutely Love this headband. Do we have to stick with cotton or will acrylic work?
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria, acrylic can tend towards being stretchy, and if you're going with acrylic, try and get the "anti-pilling" kind since there tends to be a lot of friction on a hairband 😊
@stephaniegreene5392 жыл бұрын
hello jayda and Mr Stitches, such a pretty headband, I will start making for my family and friends, can I use accrylic yarn, why strictly cotton? have a great weekend. love you guys. 🌹🤗🥰❤🇬🇾
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie, 100% mercerized cotton is smooth, non-pilling, durable and easily washed, it's also not terribly stretchy whereas acrylic is not as smooth, tends to pill and while it's easily washed, it will stretch out more than cotton.

How on earth do you get the chain after the one you made many stitches in (in this case 5DC) to remain so visible and looking like an actual chain? Mine almost disappear if I do that
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Merlijn! Try not to twist and try not to tighten up...sometimes the chains can pull on each other resulting in the last one looking tiny or tight. Using a larger hook for the first few chains might help 💗

Can you modify this for a baby?
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Lynnette, if it's a baby that can't sit up on it's own yet, I don't recommend this pattern because it ties at the back and baby shouldn't be lying on anything with knots or beads in it 💗
