Manaria admitted her crime and then ran away the next week... COINCIDENCE? 😂
At 22:26, I said "acknowledgement" when it's supposed to be "accepted". I think it's still somewhat the same, but Manaria decided to push it even further.
I would say Manaria's my favorite character, but after what she admitted to... IDK MAN. I'm starting to think the revolution is worth it! 😂
At 31:30, when I talk about how there's a lack of progress between the main couple, I don't just mean in romance, I also mean in character development. What I liked about Skip & Loafer was that we had a lot of character development between the main characters before we even got any hint of romance between them.
Or in a romance like The Dangers in My Heart where it's a lot more about Ichikawa's development than it is about the confession.
OR, if there is a need for a yuri remark, She Love to Cook and She Loves to Eat does really well in the characters getting close to one another before any romance happens.

I want to preemptively clarify a potential misunderstanding: Manaria 100% did not assault (or worse) her lover/maid. That's also not a spoiler; it's not some big reveal or any kind of reveal, later in the source. The words she says are mostly fine (and what should be focused on) but the visuals sensationalize things. You're meant to assume that their relationship was complicated by the power imbalance of her being a princess and that it might have ended up being a one sided affection, considering the fact that the woman leaves. She regrets not considering the power dynamics at play, because she was so in love. Whether it really was one-sided is the actual spoiler. It's still bad but the anime over-dramatizes the scene and opens the things up to even worse interpretations.

On my hands and knees in front of my shelf of Yuri manga/LN for a ILTV season 2 (and more), the full story deserves to be told and shown off. I really enjoyed this anime, and thank it greatly for getting me into the series in general.

I consumed almost every media available for this series. Light novel, manga, anime, audio books, and other bonus releases. I just love the series so much. But due to my love for the series, I oversaw the flaws in the anime. Watching all your reaction videos throughout all the episodes made me understand more. Like I understand more now why some people would be put off by Rae in the anime. In my mind, as I have the image of Rae from the light novel, anime Rae didn't feel extra to me. The anime showed well how much of an unreliable narrator Rae is. So up to this day, I am still so thankful for the spin-off novel, She's so Cheeky for a Commoner, which showed us more of what Rae didn't. All in all, this had been fun! ❤

I enjoyed the series a lot. Don't know what to say about the overall story, but it gave me a good and enjoyable feeling. Rae really be last minute shiny hunting with a 0,5% rate. After the fisrt battle, I couldn't ignore all the Pokemon comparisons anymore 😂 You're totally right on the side characters. To me it feels like they want to progress them later in the story, witch isn't in the anime. It only looks like that we got there introduction and that's it. The second half of the series felt more interesting for progression and characters. I guessed well on a cliffhanger with a bad ending, they really want you to read the manga/light novel Well I will do when the story is finished. The best and most interesting part for me was the display of the characters feelings. They let you know how their feelings worked and why they behaved this way in these situations. Rating: 9 (on a scale of 8 to 10) My description for the series: Yuri represented

Hanagata's design for the novel is different and will make Rae look charming too like Claire I used to hope kyonani or P.A works Will handle it just look at the animation Hibike euphonium and Ya boy kongming. But at least I appreciate that it's barely to see net 3D the hand drawings are still quite good compared to the average otome or other isekai/Villainess genre for the mellow part ost there are some nice strings. It's just that during the OST the action felt lacking if the orchestra could have been better. And for the love scale arc, I prefer the manga adaptation but above all that The English dub is really good The balance duo dynamic is one best dub i ever hear for this genre even the author inori support it and for me the dub saves and covers some of the shortcomings above This is coming from someone who always watches subs but recently got tired of it. I prefer pronunciation Miss Claire instead of Claire Sama sounds fresher and lovely Score for Sub just barely 5 or 6 Score for Dub 9.5

At first I was optimistic about Villainess season 2 then I remember YagaKimi which still doesn't have s2 after 5 years 😔. Oh well I guess it's time to read the manga instead. Do you own either the ln or the manga of Villainess? I can't seem to decide between the two format

The problem with YagaKimi is that there wouldn't be enough material for a season 2 because we only had one or two volumes left 😅 I read the LN a long time ago so that's what I know, but I don't hear people complain about the manga. If source readers have an opinion though, feel free.

I have to say, overall a bit disappointed with this adaptation. OST was nothing special, a lot of scenes weren’t done justice, and I feel like the small budget was apparent. Which doesn’t give me much hope for this getting a season 2, which I really think it needs. As for Manaria, at the risk of spoiling I have to say I never once got the impression she was admitting to THAT. I don’t understand why they implied that. It paints her in a much worse light for obvious reasons. At worst, I just thought Manaria assumed she messed up because her lover left without a word, and maybe she felt that she had pressured her into something since they failed to communicate well. But what they showed here was straight up assault, which is… quite a bit worse lol

No you're right. Pretty much anyone who read the LN feels this way. She didn't do anything of the sort (and we know this for a fact). They over dramatized the scene and implied things that didn't happen as a result. It's a discussion about power dynamics and Manaria's regret at being blinded by love and not considering how her power as princess might have made others feel, not about sexual assault and potentially worse.

@@SrGigglesandlaughsExactly. And to be clear, mixing those power dynamics with a sexual relationship can very easily become a type of assault if it leans into coercion, and it’s worth exploring in its own right. There was no need for them to make it so much more ugly and violent.
