You know why I love this song?? Because it's about something that barely anyone ever writes about. Growing up and getting married and having kids and being HAPPY. This is a true love song. Love songs nowadays are all about heartbreak and sadness, and it's so refreshing to have one that is filled with joy. Good job, blink, you did NOT disappoint.

Verse 1: Tom DeLonge] Nineteen, your eyes are glowing to my beating heart Oh, it seems like it is fine as my hand is moving up your arm And you never really know where it goes up until it starts I got my eye on you, whatcha gonna do? Daydream near a stream with the linear bites Oh, I listen to the song on repeat from the other night And I can't picture you, but I sure got the feeling right What a crazy world, pretty little girl [Pre-Chorus: Tom DeLonge] And we wake from the night in a bed with a bruise And we're laughing out loud over the craziest news And you reached for my hand, I was scared in your room We fell on the floor and we started to move And your hands were like birds as they flew from the coop Up my back, they would climb just as I came unglued [Chorus: Tom DeLonge & Mark Hoppus] She said, "If you break my heart, then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again" If you play the part, then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight We'll be there to try it again [Verse 2: Tom DeLonge] Nineteen as we roll across the bedroom floor Your eyes, they cannot lie, as you're dreaming of our future home And the kids are growing up, as you and I, we are growing old What a crazy world, pretty little girl [Pre-Chorus: Tom DeLonge] In the rain, with the drink from the back of the bar I would raise up my voice, you would raise it up more We'd forget that our lives being apart, it is hard We'd thought we were close, but it still feels far Can we learn to get by if we learn to have scars? If we learn to forgive and accept who we are [Chorus: Tom DeLonge & Mark Hoppus] She said, "If you break my heart, then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again" If you play the part, then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight We'll be here to do it again [Verse 3: Yelawolf] Wait a minute, hold up a second Don't leave me here with this feeling, like I'm the one full of regret Like I never did good for us both, like you never did Pull out that weapon And stick that knife in my back, was I supposed to accept it When your words are like More than just sticks and stones, kinda like a bullet A hollow tip that's lodged in my bones, and I can't just swallow it My pride is more than all that I own, so I gotta give it away And some of the times I'm all the way wrong But can't you see past me and see my fucked up home That made me the meanest, the devil is just singing along To the song I write 'til I'm alone at night And I hang up the phone and bite my tongue 'Cause I know that me and you is just only right, but One, one, one, one... [Pre-Chorus: Tom DeLonge] It's a cry from the past, we have been through a lot Every year has been great and a few have been tough And your kids, they will reach for the stars up above We'll sit and relax as we're cheering them on The ropes to the light from the crib to the grave We started alone, in the end we're okay [Chorus: Tom DeLonge & Mark Hoppus] She said "If you break my heart, then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again" If you play the part, then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight We'll be there to try it again

This entire album was awesome. Tom really knows how to write lyrics 'about something' and make you feel exactly how he feels in the story he's singing about. Blink 182 was getting better and better at doing that album after album.. and then they broke up :(( I also never thought twice about the rap at the end until someone mentioned it, feels like Travis's influence. Just like the sort of AVA sound at the beginning. Their willingness to keep finding new sounds, experiment, and still pull it off is what makes this band amazing.

Tom explained himself that when he writes lyrics he imagines it cinematically and has to write 'about something' so you're right

I remember neighborhoods came out when I was 16. I was so excited because I thought Blink-182 would ever make a return back then. When this e.p came out I was even more excited. This song stuck out to me since I'm a hopeless romantic who was still a teenager. I remember the lonely drinking I did and jamming out to this because nobody listens to what I do. Ahh good times. I didn't care much for the rap verse but after listening to the lyrics several times I've grown to love it. It's what makes this song even more special. When California came out, I was this much excited all over again. I can't wait to hear what the new album is like. 05-10-2019 cheers everyone 🍺

Wow. Thank you, Mark, Tom, and Travis for allowing me to temporarily go back a few years to when I was 18/19 to re-live a part of my life which was beautiful but I know I cannot return to. "It's a cry from the past we have been through a lot Every year has been great and a few have been tough." This has been absolution for both parties involved in what happened. I normally don't post things like this, but I'm a little drunk and very sad tonight so I don't care. Life is good, though.

What everyone needs to understand is that every band evolves. Each album should be judged separately of each other. The comparison can't be made between albums because they are just that - separate albums. Blink-182 should keep doing what they're doing. I appreciate the growth and change. The new album triggers a sense of nostalgia that, by all logic, shouldn't be there. There is nothing this album refers to that would provide it with this feeling. In this way, the album is a success.

Yelawolf is a very versatile artist who can tailor his rapping to fit almost any song and he does an amazing job here too. He is one to respect all genres of music as well so he is a great fit. I couldn't picture any other rapper doing a better job and fitting into this genre. If you don't like it, listen to the rest of the album. But let us who enjoy artists being artists enjoy this song. This is what music is about, experimenting with sound to make music. It doesn't have to conform to a set of rules, that's why they are called artists. Uniqueness and experimentation is what drives the industry. I'm sure you haters aren't in middle school anymore, so stop acting like it and enjoy their beautiful creation.

I LOVE the feature. I think it's amazing, effective, and used very well. I think it flows with the song perfectly.

I'm actually chill with the "rap" lmao, I didn't think much of it until I read the comments

Same here actually.

its actually great, just has no place in this song. So forced. It doesnt transition into it well at all, and transitions even worse out of it, they lazily forced it in to a song that doesn't call for it. Standing apart from this song, its a great part.

*+Reid Erickson* Opinions though. I think it's fine.

Nineteen, your eyes are glowing to my beating heart Oh, it seems like it is fine as my hand is moving up your arm And you never really know where it goes up until it starts I got my eye on you Whatcha gonna do Day dream near a stream with the linear bites Oh, I listen to the song on repeat from the other night And I can't picture you but I sure got the feeling right What a crazy world Pretty little girl And we wake from the night in a bed with a bruise And we're laughing out loud over the craziest news And you reached for my hand I was scared in your room We fell on the floor and we started to move And your hands were like birds as they flew from the coop Up my back they would climb just as I came unglued She said If you break my heart then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again If you play the part then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark if we hold on tight We'll be there to try it again Nineteen as we roll across the bedroom floor Your eyes they cannot lie as you're dreaming of our future home And the kids are growing up as you and I we are growing old What a crazy world Pretty little girl In the rain with the drink from the back of the bar I would raise up my voice, you would raise it up more We'd forget that our lives being apart it is hard We'd thought we were close but it still feels far Can we learn to get by if we learn to have scars If we learn to forgive and accept who we are You said If you break my heart then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again If you play the part then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark if we hold on tight We'll be here to do it again Wait a minute hold up a second Don't leave me here with this feeling Like I'm the one full of regret Like I never did good for us both Like you never did pull out that weapon And stick that knife in my back Was I supposed to accept it When your words are like More than just sticks and stones Kinda like a bullet A hollow tip that lodged in my bones And I can't just swallow it My pride is more than all that I own So I gotta give it away And some of the times I'm all the way wrong But can't you see past me and see my fucked up home That made me the meanest, the devil is just singing along To the song I write til I'm alone at night And I hang up the phone and bite my tongue 'Cause I know that me and you is just only right but one It's a cry from the past we have been through a lot Every year has been great and a few have been tough And your kids they will reach for the stars up above We'll sit and relax as we cheer in the morrow The ropes to the light from the crypt to the grave We started alone in the end we're okay You said If you break my heart then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again If you play the part then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark if we hold on tight We'll be here to try it again

The fact that they still wanna be together and write music is good enough for me. I'm not gonna be some asshole critic. I'm just gonna be the same kid who was listening to them 10 years ago.

Having that bit of rap in this song is like putting ketchup on a $100 steak.
