I just turned 27 and i feel so lucky that I had no friends in high school lol because I made my absolute besties at university and in different jobs I've had and am so glad I've gotten to have amazing moments with my people and we can keep making them throughout life even if I had to wait a little longer for them!

The way that you described finding your people and your genuine friends was so real. I feel like with the friend thing I’ve had a hard time staying friends with people. I’m 23 and still have the same friends from high school . And I’m like the “ goodie goodie” of the group and I’m so different from everyone like I don’t like drinking, going to the bar or the club and the friends I do have always want to go do that and I am just not like that . Like I’d rather go to brunch or go to like a food festival or literally even stay in and watch Netflix. And I also feel like my anxiety gets to me too much when I go hangout with my friends bc I feel like I need to fit in or need to drink to be “cool” . My anxiety definitely gets the best of me and doesn’t allow me to go out and do things or make new friends and it scares me to make new friends as well.

My thoughts on friendship, it’s easier I think for people in LA to find their besties and friend group because people don’t typically move OUT of LA and they’re slower to settle down and have kids, etc. The hardest part about finding friends when you’re an adult in other parts of the country is that people are constantly moving, so you’ll find a best friend and your person and then in a couple years they’ll move or be at a different place in their lives.
