+sistar star1 If you watch the video theyre both mostly just well, standing.. as they sing their notes. Face expressions can be controlled to some extent. I actually prefer it when singers make face expressions as they sing. If theyre singing and looking like theyre trying hard to pull off high note, it just adds more to the performance to know that it looks like theyre giving their all even if the high note is something the singer can pull off effortlessly. If youre singing a ballad, its suppose to look like youre dying as you sing your high notes and i can point a few times here where Hyorin definitely does not look relaxed as she sings her high notes and "still dancing"

I don't even understand why people always compare Hyorin's & TaeYeon's vocal. Like c'mon, they both have different style and different ways when singing. Hyorin has a husky and thin vocal whereas, TaeYeon has a clear and light vocal. In terms of skills, Hyorin is definitely in the lead. However, in terms of emotions, Tae Yeon is no doubt the best. I've encountered lots and lots of Sistar fans, or rather, Hyorin's fans dissing/bashing Tae Yeon saying that she's not worthy to be called as a competitor to Hyorin because Hyorin has more skills than her. Which, I have to disagree. Yes, it's true that Hyorin has more skills. However, Skills are not everything in singing. Park Jin Young once said in Kpop Star 5 that, having much vocal skills does not make one a good/skilled singer. Therefore, stop telling everyone that Hyorin is better than Tae Yeon just because she has more vocal skills than Tae. You should start telling people that Hyorin and Taeyeon can't be compared because they are different. Each of them has pros and cons in terms of singing and they are totally different when it comes to singing. So just stop with all your meaningless & biased hate.

I for example (SNSD is My favourite Group btw) feel no Emotion When I hear Taeyeons voice. It's just nice singing. That is a fact. And it's a fact that you can't change. Go around and ask professional judges, see what they will tell you when you ask them hows Tae Yeon's singing skills and how much emotions she has when she sings. Jong Hyun from SHINee, JY Park, Yoo Hee Yeol, Kim Bum Soo and so so so much more professional singer as well as judges always comment on how good of a vocalist Tae Yeon is and they always compliment Tae Yeon by saying she's gifted to sing with emotions. I really Love both, But Hyorin Is way better for me. I feel nothing when I hear Taeyeon singing. It's just a nice voice, But only "nice". She Never wow's me, because she always Looks like she needs all her power to reach the high Notes and high Note above D5 often end up strained,thin and weak. It's always a hit or miss. Hyorin has way more power, a wider Range, reaches high Notes without effort And has a better technique (normally) - She regressed, But now She Is getting better again. Hyorin has still so much power And ease while Taeyeon just Sounds thin and like she Is straining. In comparison you can clearly see that Hyorin is on another level. But it's not all about the technique : When Hyorin sings (especially sad Songs) her raspy Voice really makes ME feel the Message of the song. I also think that her voice suits more Genres - ballads, pop, r'n'b, soul, even rock songs - she can Even rap better than Some Main rappers. Her voice Is more unique and interesting. Taeyeons Voice isn't very unique - Many People have a very similar tone. I also think that she doesn't Suit many Genres.. Her voice Is to soft and plain for many ones. I think only ballads and Pop Songs Suit her. I don't want to offend a fan, I actually like Taeyeon, but to me her Voice Sounds boring. Taeyeon has limit for high note done support in Eb5, Hyorin can keeping support F5/F#5. but everyone has different taste, especially timbre vocal. I love taeyeon timbre. and if you talking about vocal technique, Hyorin just a bit better than taeyeon. Hyorin falseto and head voice is her weakness, so usually she sing 80% with real voice. for Taeyeon, vocal run is her weakness, so she more comfort with ballad/pop song, although her voice also pretty good to sing R&B and metal. agree. it was so easy for the members and sones to recognize tae's voice! (except for choding hyo 😂) since the audience were mainly just people who know taeyeon but dont often listen to her sing, it was hard for them to identify taeyeon especially when taeyeon was made to sing a group song instead of her own song and in addition,gee was a very awkward song for taeyeon from the beginning to sing (ty said it in many past interviews) yet tae was made to sing it . And worst, she had to sing her member's part instead of her own part which made her even more awkward when singing it and being mistaken by the audience..

Why do people need to compare? These two are very different, Hyorin and Taeyeon are both known for their amazing vocals, but their voices are so different. You can't compare a vocalist like Hyorin to a vocalist like Taeyeon, they both have different styles of singing. This is honestly bullshit, the person is obviously Hyorin biased cuz there are so many good clips of Taeyeon showing off her vocals, but she used none of it. What a world we live in.

In my opinion, I think Taeyeon best sound. She was the low tones, but can be as high up so that I was nothing great. She cried all the time to clear out.
