Kimberly, I agree with you! I have very dry skin and none of these foundations worked for me either. I’m wearing out a “RETURN” path. I picked up the Dior Forever Skin Glow after watching one of your videos and it is working on my very dry skin. So, thank you, for all the hard work you put in to help us find the right foundation for us over 50, . . . ok, over 60 wrinkly crinkly-faced ladies! Hahaha! I hope everyone is having a blessed day!

I use the Loreal foundation featured in your video and I don't use it with a sponge or a brush. I use the warmth of my fingers. It makes all the difference! Using a sponge makes it somewhat blotchy, using a brush is just a big mess. Give it another try using your fingers for application and see if it works better for you.

I just bought the Tru Match FOR THE THIRD TIME for an upcoming video....I feel the same, it doesn't provide any coverage, the colors aren't that good....and for $20 drugstore, there are a lot better options! Though I feel the same about the tinted balm though, purchased twice in 2 shades, does't provide much coverage either, good for just darkening my face to match my chest, but doesn't make my skin more even toned which I need.

I've reached a point where if I am aiming at lighter coverage, I want serum level ingredients in the product. Putting on something that offers almost no coverage just to put something on, just seems like a waste anymore. I want every opportunity possible to add (useful) benefits to my skin. Spending at least $20 just isn't worth it when a Tinted moisturizer will do... You two are so helpful & just the best!!

I agree with you on those foundations! I bet I have tried at least 20 over the past few years. Most of them creased on my 68 yr old skin. I recently broke down and bought the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra wear. Absolutely no creasing on me and looks and feels like skin. I am thinking about decluttering all others. As far as the Kenzii goes I used it faithfully for a year and never noticed any change with hair growth so I’ve given up on it. A waste of my money and time. This was a great review!!

Hi Kimberly. That laser is worthless. It's a temporary fix because of the type of laser it is. I believe it's an IPL?? So not worth it IMO. If you get YAG laser it can permanently keep the hair away. Lots of med spas use IPL (similar to that Kenzi device but larger) and they remove the hair initially BUT it will grow back. I had YAG about 15 years ago and the hair has never grown back. Although it didn't get my blonde hairs and it won't get grays but it completely removed the dark hairs permanently. Places like Body Details and Ideal Image use YAG. I've been to both. But I prefer Body Details the best. Also you can use a numbing cream 90 minutes before your appt so it won't hurt. Hope that helps. 🤗

You’re reviews are the best and you’re hilarious 😆 After many years of watching mature beauty influencers I truly appreciate every skin type is different and so are opinions. At first I thought something was wrong with me I wasn’t not excited about True Match and muh about Sephora’s foundation I’ve repeatedly tried and it’s not happening. It’s hit and miss sometimes but I finally realized like you I want a little dewy , satin finish and now I wanna try the L’Oreal 4-1. Keep it up Sista 😊

I agree with you about laser treatments. I had some professionally done years ago. Didn’t do anything except cost a lot of money. I’m thinking your hair is too light though! I’m told hair has to be dark and skin light for it to be effective. Anyway I recently asked my dermatologist about it and she said the only way to permanently remove hair is by electrolysis. So I am now in the process -and yes it’s a process- of having electrolysis done on my upper lip and chin area. I’ll let you know how it goes. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree 100% that’s why I never got the Kenzie. With the L’Oréal tinted serum had to use an extra layer of moisturizer and it then looked great and I’m 63. No 7 lift and luminate and the one I. The tube look great on me

I've used the Kenzi and it made it so I rarely had to shave and when I did, the hair was very blond and almost invisible. You do have to do a maintenance run maybe every 4 to 6 weeks to keep it up, which I didn't do, but I still only shave my armpits and legs maybe once per week, so it's still a win for me.

I just finished 8 spa laser hair removal treatments and am thrilled with the results....but....upon departure I was told that I would need to do annual treatments for maintenance. What??? I thought I would try the at home device and hope that works instead. I do think it is worth it bc the hair is finer, softer and you can shave less. Just my opinion. Thanks for the great reviews, I have been wanting to try the Tower blush, it looks amazing.

LOVE the L'Oreal. It's magic on my skin as long as I prep and hydrate. Also, I find using fingers best. But, agree with you on the Nars.... it did nothing for me ... waste of money.

Kimberly I don't know if you ever tried Maybelline Green oil tinted foundation but it is wonderful for those with dry skin. It is not shiny, oily feeling and matte finish. This product is great and reasonable price point.

You have truly gone through many changes for the good. My only issue with highly moisturizing lipsticks is they, often, wear off more easily. It's a difficult balance. Love these neutrals on you. 💕

You're not alone! I don't buy from Sephora; True Serum, Balm, and Nars just don't do it. BUT I have oily skin. "Dewy" is the 30 seconds before I become "oil slick". 🙄 L'Oreal Infallible 24 hour works, tho. I just need one lighter shade than they make. Love EL, CG Extreme Outlast, Revlon Color stay, and MUFE. I want to try the new HD! Florence Mills cream blush is great.

I haven't tried the Best Skin Ever, BUT I am 100% in total agreement about the Sephora & the Nars! I was so excited about the Nars coming out & I had just coughed up big $$ for the CT!!! But I was determined to get the Nars...what a let down! It's "ok" at BEST & that's a stretch! I will say that I mixed it with the CT & it was a little better. To be honest, the BEST foundation I have ever used is the Armani Luminous Silk! It checks all the boxes for me (except price!) but I can only afford the mini! So its for special occasions only!

Kimberly, I think those hair removal devices work best on very pigmented hair. I have much less pigment in my leg hair than I did when I was younger. The best results will be for a person with fair skin and very dark hair. There is one specific device for less pigmented hair which uses radio frequency, but I don’t remember the name.

I'm so glad you are talking about the Nars foundation. I hear all the time how amazing it is and tempted so many times to try it. I have similar skin and complexion as you so and like a satin type of finish as well. Maybe I'll put that on hold for a while again. No rush.

I too was disappointed in the Sephora Best Skin Ever. I have only tried the L’Oréal Balm. It’s okay, I have to use very sparingly or it goes south after a few hours. You are correct it does have to dry down.

I agree with you on foundations. In my youth I used Merle Norman in similar jar to L’oreal balm, although Merle’s had Zinc Oxide & did not work as I aged with dry skin. Then I did Lancôme for years. Will try Dior! Many years ago I put hair bleach on dark hairs on my arms. My arm hair disappeared & never returned? that Loreal Nude is my ride or die. I have 4 different bottles. I have never used a cream foundation, do not know how to blend it. but for a light application daily I will use my NUDE. it is a serum foundation so can be applied with the fingers, but I use my blending sponge to blend and love it.

The Kenzzi works great for me. No hair removal is permanent. You need to hold the large white button down for 3 seconds and it will automatically click when you move it down your legs. I use it once a week for 12 weeks and then once a month thereafter. The hair grows back slower and thinner as you go. Just stick with it! It definitely works!

The Kenzii has a setting where it will automatically click for you and all you have to do is move it up and down. It’s much faster that way… I have had mine for a year and only use it every 10 days or so. I almost never have to shave anymore…. I do know it does better on lighter skin with dark hair stubble.

I have tried the Nars foundation in several shades thinking that maybe the shade just wasn’t right. I don’t care for it at all. It does nothing for my skin either. It looks flat and I definitely have tried drugstore foundations that I like better. It also oxidizes a lot. As far as shaving goes , I agree there. Kimberly, my issue with the L’Oréal tru match is that there are only three shades for light skin tones. That is absurd. I have light skin tone and three shades is not enough to get a good match. I have noticed that their shade range tends to be very warm. That does not work for me. As far as the Tinted balm, the shade range is all over the place. People online say that the light is too dark so you had to go to Fair. Only 8 shades with this foundation. I know you used Fair 20. We are similar so I might try it. But their shade ranges try my patience.

Hi, Kimberly! You *do* have opinions and I always appreciate your perspectives. We're the exact same age and I love your drugstore/affordable makeup videos most of all. I like the True Match Nude foundation okay, but it didn't blow me away like it did a lot of women. It's just okay and I use it, but generally, I mix it with something else. I had the same bad experience with the Loreal tinted serum foundation. I even went out and bought a second shade like you did! It seemed to oxidize quickly and accentuated every wrinkle. I heard so many good reviews and had such high hopes. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I'm going to try the Age Perfect Tinted Balm foundation next.

You are right! The l’Oréal true match was a big fail for me also. First of all it has a very strong alcohol scent and I found that it was difficult to apply and so drying.....a disaster! The Sephora one was not as bad but not great at all, didn’t do much for my skin. I have better results with the Pretty Natural foundation from Essence but still looking for my Holy grail! Hallo, No I don't use laser hair removal, I don't mind shaving. For those foundations I love the Loreal true match serum and Nars works very well for me and the Sephora one is okay I like it. The elf putty bronzer worked awful for me, I think it was my technique took off product. I tried it again using a sponge to tap on it was just meh did not hold up but looked nice while it did.

The Kenzzi worked GREAT for me! I have light skin and dark hair which is best for the device. I did my legs which took 40 minutes per session (I streamed a show while using the device) - three times a week with three passes over my legs (used it during Covid lockdown). There is a feature on the device for auto IPL flashes. After the 12 weeks I did maintenance once a month but currently am doing maintenance once every two months. For me it is not only about the time saver - it is about saving our planet - no razors, no shave cream cans going into the land fills.

Lose the L’Oréal True match and go for the Infallible 24 hr.! So dewey and a nice buildable foundation. I’ve tried so many other expensive brands and go back to the Infallible 24 hr in the pump. I also do love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer for summer!!

Actually, I won't use Loreal because they still test on animals, and are often overpriced compared to other brands. I've found my foundations have a better finish when I add a drop or two of face oil or hydrating serum (e.l.f.). I'm glad this is working because I want to empty some of what I already have instead of continuing the collecting... I love the e.l.f. putty products... they're buildable, but can look super natural when desired. They just released a luminous putty blush. So excited to try that!

I've never liked any of the True Match foundations, tbh. They've always felt oily to me. I do like many of their other foundations, though. I haven't tried the Nars, because I heard some other reviews that discouraged me, and don't think I'd like the amount of coverage it gives. I've purchased about 15 foundations over the last two years, and out of all of them, the Lancôme 24 hr one, has been my favorite. It's become my HG!

What, to your mind, is a very light coverage drugstore foundation that looks skin-like, for me? I have good skin for my age (66 but look 10 years younger - genetics, so did mother and grandmother) and only want essentially a tinted moisturizer, but they don't last long at all so I need a just YSBBTR foundation.

I have the Kenzi and love it. Yes it takes me 2.5 hrs a week to do both legs, underarms, neck and chest, entire face and nearly a Brazilian but it’s worth it. I do it weekly all fall and winter for the last two years and it means I can shave once a month spring and summer. Before I could shave morning and evening. Such dark, coarse hair. So for me, worth it. And overtime I’m finding it is permanent. Not to mention lightening pigmentation. Love it.

I have had the very same experience as you!! I keep going back to my Loreal Infallible 24 HR Fresh Wear.from the drugstore. It is medium coveage, inexpensive, and beautiful (in my opinion). The only 'negatuve' for me is than I Need 2 shades to get My Color. But for under $10 Im Not Complaining!😅

Tru Match isn't intended to be a full coverage foundation. If that's what you're looking for, that's not the best choice. I love it for every day wear. It's light, comfortable and evens out my skin to a nice, natural, look. I'd say it was my HG, followed closely with another light wear serum foundation, the new No.7 Restore and Renew. My biggest issue with the No.7 was the shades are way lighter than you'd expect and it took three tries before I got one that worked on my fair skin and didn't make me a ghost. For fuller coverage, I always reach for Estee Lauder Futurist. I also really like the Sephora foundation in the winter. I'm 60, dry skin, with some wrinkles and texture. I apply foundations with a damp makeup sponge. I think primer has a lot to do with a good wear on some foundations. My daily is the E.L.F. gripping primer, followed by the Nyx Marshmallow primer. I haven't tried the L'Oreal tinted balm yet, just because I feel like that's something you'd apply with a brush, and I don't care for how heavy a brush lays down makeup. As for the IPL device, it is tedious, but has reduced hair growth on my legs significantly, and you find yourself using it much less for maintenance over time than in the initial stages.

I tried the Kenzie and it didn’t work at all for me. I might try it some day on a few dark spots on my cheek. I also couldn’t make the Sephora foundation work for me. It’s too matte and looked like I was wearing a mask. My favorite foundation lately is the It your skin but better. And with the warmer temperatures the last few weeks I’m liking tarte maracuja tinted moisturizer. I can’t stand the feeling of foundation when it’s hot and humid.

I don't know anything about what you are using, but I started using epilady when I was in my 50's. It did hurt at the beginning but after awhile it was ok. Any how I don't have any hairs on my legs....

Hi Kimberly, Loved your reviews of the different products. I also have the Kenzi Hair Remover. It does have an automatic on, by hold down the button, but it is SLOW. I just haven’t used mine in months. My hair is spotty on the lower legs, and on the upper legs, it is still there. I really concentrated on the bikini line and it is better than it was, but how many times do you have to go over your body with this device? My hair is so. Gray, or blonde, on my arms it was useless. Now my legs are getting a bit gray too. There is a new device out that is supposed to be better but I am reluctant to purchase it due to the results I got with this one. What a bummer, huh? I even bought one for my daughter-in-law. Her results are about the same, maybe a bit better, as she has no gray. Oh well.

I have had a really hard time to find a foundation, that I liked. A lot of foundations give me polka dot pores. I too prefer a little glow and I have finally found a great foundation - the Shiseido Synchro Skin GLOW foundation. I can highly recommend it 🙂

Another Shiseido fan. I have both but prefer the original over the glow but I have prepped my skin with serums and moisturizer for dry skin. And then a sunscreen that is moisturizing too. I apply with my fingers and 1 pump is all I need so it lasts forever.

I have not tried the Dior Foundation, but have had the exact same experience with all of the other foundations you mentioned. I thought it was just me! ☺️

Kim, I used all those foundation except the Dior and I feel exactly as you do. I use the Kenzzi and I love it. It does remove the hair and it also removes the dark spots so much so that I'm also using it on my face. After spending a thousand dollars on three IPL treatments that didn't work, I like the Kenzzi. Try it again you might get used to it.

Maureen -- do you need to use the age spot attachment thing on the Kenzzi (sold on their website) to work on the age spots or is that not necessary?

@@AgathaG1692 Karyn-no attachment is necessary I just found that by removing the hair my dark spots have lighten a lot.

New to your channel and I love your honesty- so refreshing. I am 59yo and have never worn foundation. I was never a sun worshiper and had oily skin when I was younger. My mother had an orange face and a white neck growing up and I swore I would never wear foundation. My skin is normal to dry now. I use the Becca light for a concealer followed up by some essence setting powder. I love winky lux flower cream blushes and essence regular blushes on top to set the cream blush. Love the Flower beauty bronzer. It is my holy grail. I have 2 backups and never want to be without it. I use a lot of the same skin care products you do and love them. I am going to try the merit blush and mascara. I am highly allergic and have always disliked mascara but think after listening to you and MrsMelissaM a tubing mascara May be what I need. You are beautiful inside and out. Love your do it yourself vitamin c recipe. Thank🌻You SO much for that. You will have saved many of us hundreds of dollars in vitamin c serum costs over time. I use an at home hair removal device and it works great on the medium to dark hair but on blonde or grey hair it doesn't work.

I actually just finally tried the Giorgio Armani foundation - love it. It will be tough for me to move away from this one. But I need to get that lipstick you are wearing. Been a fan of the Maybelline crayon for a while but a lipstick purchase never ‘counts’ so I can buy all I want! My lips are just fading off my face now in my 60’s so need a matte color dense formula to fill them out a bit. Love your reviews so much!

Hi Kimberly....we share many similar thoughts. RE: the Sephora one...try layering it over the Maybelline 4 in1 Perfecter. This product has saved a few newer foundations that weren't so great on their own.

I love the Merit lipsticks. I just received the lip oil and really like that too. So happy to hear about the mascara. I had planned on trying the other one (that clumped) but now will get the Merit when I run out. Thanks! ❤️
