Just fyi the floral prints that embody the CottageCore aesthetic are decades old, I have fabric scraps from 1930's flour sacks with an extremely similar small flower print as well as a sheet I got from Goodwill that I used for the backing of a quilt. So don't feel guilty if the prints are close, everyone is borrowing them from earlier designs.

When it comes to printed fabrics, most brands do not design their own fabric, but DO put a lot of effort into sourcing the perfect fabric for the type of dress they want to make. This means that sometimes many brands, or designers, end up using the same fabric in the same season or within a few years of each other. YSL, Dior and Chanel have often sourced the same solid color materials; back when the original designers were alive, they'd even recommend fabrics to each other. All of that said, in our modern fashion world; this still happens, and there are many other layers to it; a fabric company might have the rights to a specific print, but instead of making it as is, they make many variants, or colorways, to try and meet the needs of their customers. They might enlarge it, shrink it, change the background color or change the actual fabric they are printing it onto. In Lolita Fashion, many of the smaller Japanese and Chinese brands tend to use the same prints, when a very "lolita print" becomes available on the market. At most I've seen the same printed cotton used by three Lolita brands at the same time. The big names (Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Metamorphose & others) tend to source their solid fabrics but then commission artists to make their exclusive print series. So all in all; if you ever notice something printed (but not labeled as "exclusive") become wildly popular, don't be surprised if that same print starts getting picked up by multiple fashion companies marketing towards different price points.

Yes. I will also point out I'm almost 40, I have a dress from when I was a very young child with this print, but in blue. I believe this is just a recreation of a very standard, older floral pattern.

There is also the fine print in the manufacturing contract, which can see the designer losing a portion of their design to the manufacturer. There may also Be a clause where after you use certain manufacturers they then own all aspects of the design. The manufacturers can do with as they see fit.

@debshaw6803 жыл бұрын
@@brittsNAY but if you REALLY wanted to improve, you would. Make schedules and stick to them. Don’t take on tasks when you have to ask yourself if there’s enough time. Billions of people manage to get where they need to be on time. While you don’t think you do, you choose to be late because you don’t actually take the steps you need to take. Maybe speak to a therapist or life coach about it. There is a reason behind your not sorting yourself out. It really inconveniences everyone around you when you make them hold up plans because you’re late. Apologies don’t cut it when it’s a constant issue. I have actual panic attacks at the thought of keeping anyone waiting. I take medication for that but still arrive early and wait til it’s time to go in. That extra time gives me a few minutes to decompress and gather my thoughts and I don’t have to freak out about unexpected traffic issues.
@brittsNAY3 жыл бұрын
@@debshaw680 that’s great for you that it’s something that you have better control over, but it’s not that easy for everyone. I am aware it’s an issue and I manage it for the most part, but it is much more difficult for some than for others, even if it’s hard for you to understand from your view point. Having a poor concept of time can be debilitating. I will get ready an hour early and still manager to leave later than I meant to because 30 minutes can feel like 5 minutes to me (even with keeping track of time on my phone). Keep in mind that everyone’s brains work differently (and some struggle with things more than others) before passing judgement. We all have things we struggle with, and just because someone isn’t on your level doesn’t mean they aren’t trying or improving.

I don’t have a problem with knock offs because designers sell their designs, slightly altered, to cheaper manufacturers after the initial release. I’ve never paid $200 for a single garment. I’d turn to dust at he register if I tried. I get more pricey clothes second hand on the rare occasion I’ve gotten them. I probably spend less than a thousand dollars a year on clothes. 😆 I was raised to be cheap!

Same. My weddingdress was less than 200. I never had much to spend on clothes. And anyway, I get really happy when I get a good deal. My husband just had to convince me to buy a pretty red (brand) dress I found in the outlet store for 40 euros. If I had been alone I would have walked away. But I love it so much! Makes me feel so good about myself.

"I probably spend less than a thousand dollars a year on clothes."... And that is being cheap? Last year I spend a grand total of 16€ jajajjaa and that was on a bunch of second hand clothes that I didn't need but were so cute xD

@@nadine1208 Ah yeah I thought she wasn't in the movies. I thought she might have just confused her with Keira Nightley

Weird hearing about winter when it´s summer here. Still the winter temp in Australia are what you can expect for early spring to early summer temp here in Sweden. What I saw when I did some fast reserach. And the dresses looks nice on you.

Always do a close up with this brand they put a lot of effort in details, they look like high end boutique one of a kind pieces.

for shoes theres a large variety people would use, ballet flats, low heel lofa types, tennis shoes, low heel boots etc the idea is to stray away from high heels for more comfort and practicality. Its also best to go with brown or white shoes or a colour that matches the outfit.
