Want you to know I've been watching your videos and doing what you been saying to do and it's been helping/working. I'm 56 and haven't been in a gym for 30 years. I'm tore up from the ground up. I've had every joint tore out through the years. So, I have to be careful. You've been a great help to me and I appreciate you. Thank you Oh , I've been back in the gym for two months now

I already made a post regarding this individual. I’m inspired to post another; for me at least, the advice, training tips, etc I’ve incorporated full time because they work. The presentation in these vids is tops, you can see the Man had a passion for sharing his knowledge.

I'm learning much more about John and now know he's no longer with us. All my workouts are now from him . This man was and still is a phenomenal teacher due to whoever is still showing his videos. I am truly grateful to whoever is doing this channel. Also , my condolences to the family.

From 1970 to 2012 i did behind neck presses .From there forward I did clean and front presses. I am 69 and still at it. The bench press tweaked my right shoulder from ego lifting ,but I overcame it.Just lighted the poundage.

The legend has spoken! I've had bad shoulders for a bit now. I've begun to do various band exercises which have resolved the issue nicely. But when I ohp, it's a little painful again. Recently, I started doing them in the squat rack (when available) and setting the safety bars just above shoulder height. And then tighten up, etc. press from there, down, rest, tighten up and repeat. No pain what so ever. May be worth a try for anyone in the same position.

Absolutely great advice, I banged up my shoulders by doing copious amounts of barbell overhead presses & also with dumbbells too. But now changed to shift the bar to behind the neck with much lesser weights, but will definately try a kettlebell now.

Restricting ROM at top and bottom for us geezers is an underrated way to prevent injury. Having maximum ROM doesn’t really do you much good when you’re injured all the time.

I'm wondering if behind the neck press creates less problems than Infront? Though it's side delt rather than front delt

I think BB OHP isn't great for shoulder, but I love Seated DB Press. I get a huge pump.

So a shoulder press at the angle you’re not supposed to do it at. Odd.
