he really did train as hard as he could everytime. a true inspiration to me, I use his techniques whenever I have them integrated after I have a good rest

I agree on JM's training effort. I got away with a lot of pushing myself hard, but as I got older, I realized it was too taxing on my aging metabolism. Bottom line you have to slow down a bit I think, and the habits we got away with in our youth, fuggedaboutit in our later years. Eat clean, workout, stay lean. At some point, our bodies cannot handle the stress they once could.
@rockyevans1584 Жыл бұрын
@@NFL1976 I won't disagree with that, what age approximately would you say a slowdown is to be considered? I'm 35 and feel like I can work as hard as ever, I do less volume than I did in my early twenties but I was so much weaker and had way less mm connection then that I dont attribute much of that to age currently

I had crippling tendinitis and couldn't do any kind of lifting without pain. I started skipping rope for some type of pain free workout and started using a 3 pound rope every of round of skipping. After 6 weeks my tendinitis was gone. Anytime I feel it creeping back I skip rope a few times a week and the pain is completely gone again.
@monkeyb18202 жыл бұрын
that doesn't make sense, unless maybe you just needed 6 weeks of rest for it to go away. The rope skipping shouldn't have really done much to make it go away.
@Slowther872 жыл бұрын
@@monkeyb1820 I'm guessing all the extra work my forearms got, especially with the weighted rope, just helped strengthen the muscles connecting to my elbow helping them heal. As I said before if I feel that same elbow and forearm pain start to come back I add rope skipping in my routine and it starts clearing up pretty quickly.
@monkeyb18202 жыл бұрын
@@Slowther87 I guess whatever works. You could probably sit in a recliner and hold a couple of bars and move your arms around in that motion (although the rope jumping definitely has some extra cardio and leg benefits).
