This 6-inch contained 1.2kg ofː ▪︎ 60% K perchlorate ▪︎ 20% blue Al ▪︎ 1Ƽ% TPA ▪︎ Ƽ% hexamine As you can see, the flash is a TPA mix with blue Al and a little bit of hexamine. It’s some new stuff I’m working on here. The hexamine is only used to aid in ignition as it begins decomposition in the presence of perchlorate at lower temperatures, which acts to help oxidize the blue Al and TPA fuels in the composition. You could also just use sulfur too. As for the general sensitivity of this flash, in case you’re wondering; it’s very safe to work with. The Hexamine increases its thermal response, not augmenting shock and friction properties.
