The fact that the Sooner defense hasn't been up to par for several years. Rebuilding the defense whether we are to play in the Big 12 or the SEC isn't dictated by where we play. Great defensive play is a good mindset for playing football. The same goes for the offensive play and the rest of the units, including the men playing on the practice squads. Coach said it best when he iterated that coach Riley didn't invent offensive at OU, it was here and will be here long after any great coach leaves his handprints on a playbook.

OU and Texas shouldn’t have to follow the SEC rules until they are actually in the SEC come July 1st.

Yes he can play, the rule if for spring transfer only not fall

He also was a grad transfer on top of transferring in the first window. Not sure if that also allows him to transfer but the above comment that it only applied to us for the spring portal is correct. Typically you can’t transfer in conference regardless of portal window but this past year was unique since we weren’t considered a part of the SEC until after the first window. That’s my understanding as well
