Found a pair of 14" Evolution hats, and a 7" splash used, and in great condition at my local Guitar Center, spent about $265 for both. Talk about a steal!

The recording quality does these cymbals no favor. They are amazing, I use them for everything. Your review though is accurate and detailed.

I don't dislike them (the 17-inch is the one I would go for if I was to pick one of them based on this demo), but I'm definitely leaning more towards the Paiste Dark Energy cymbals which seem to hit closer to the mark for me. . Nice demo at any rate.

Thanks Herb! I have an 18 Evolution crash and it's a beautiful cymbal. I was surprised how trashy the 12 splash is!

Yes. But I have a Paiste Dark Energy 18” that I use with timbales and a JCR “clunk” bell that really pushes.

CSAN-II I’m not that yet familiar with Meinl. I’ve heard good things about that brand. For me, it’s Zildjian K series, Paiste Signature and Dark Energy series’ and Sabian HHX and HH. The Legacy and Evolution series’. That alone, is well over 100 cymbals. Who knows, maybe some day we’ll meet for some Salsa Pura. Take care, my friend.
