ZOMG! I thought the same thing when I got to 9:17 and had to go back and pause. Really awesome demonstration of painting with out relying on a photo. Quiller's amazing landscape looks like it flows right out of his memory and onto the paper. Thanks for posting this ArtistsNetwork, looking forward to more!

The color theory was very interesting - I will have to try that technique, mixing to achieve the gray neutral and working from the center out to the original

I wish they'd showed how he put in the negative shapes - those suggestions of tree branches in snow. Did he lift those out?

I have had to watch it again. I suspect he uses Claybord because he's painting with Acrylics. I forget when watching it that it's not Watercolor paints. I am going to try painting in this way with Watercolor...just put it on and let it run and see what I get. Millie Gift Smith paints this way. You can see her on You Tube. Just have to find the time as life is busy right now.
