I love how Percy's weapons and gadgets absolutely never work when he wants them too, but when they DO work they are unquestionably the strongest and best tools Vox Machine has at their disposal. Giving real glass cannon vibes. Or, maybe wooden cannon. Since he's very flammable.

The skinny Grog bit is new for the show. He actually died and was revivified in the campaign. They probably didn't want to repeat the whole death and revival thing so soon in the show. And ya know, it's funnier plus gives him something to overcome after using that crutch of a sword.

All I can think of watching Adam's reaction to the floof dying in the Fey Realm was Matt talking about that specific sequence (I think it may have been in an episode of 4 Sided Dive). He was so excited because he and Marisha had a bird that they loved but they openly acknowledged was a jerk, so when the Fey Realm episode was in discussion they decided to give their bird a nice little cameo. However, between that decision and their first time seeing the completed episode the bird had passed away so when the little floof popped up he immediately was like "Oh! Oh No. OHHHH NOOOO!"

Also the way they're incorporating Percy's gadgets and science knowledge makes me very happy. Taliesin and Matt are Huge nerds and often used actual science at the table to base decisions on what Percy could and could not invent or do with his inventions. I hope they do more of that in the future. An example from the Briarwood arc: Taliesin (Percy) recognized from Matt's description of the room they were in, the type of metal, etc, that they were in a room that dealt with Acid. Because that type of metal is/was actually used for dealing with acid, Etc.

So glad you're still enjoying this. I found it interesting that they set up Percy to fail - 'I know all about the fey realm' - but then he didn't. I was expecting him to obviously do something foolish, because that was what it felt like was coming (and there's a moment in the original campaign where he's responsible for... something, although honestly that's not his fault), but instead he was actually right about pretty much everything and the failures weren't his fault at all. He really does have the knowledge, if not the experience. It was just Vax's situation that was really causing the problems. But as they said in the Q&A for the last three episodes, Vax is really having A Week, so we probably shouldn't be too hard on him. I'm fascinated by your editing of this one. Particularly because you kept in your reaction to a moment that you didn't seem to react to, but then I realised you probably edited this one after watching the rest of this week's episodes so you retrospectively noticed the thing that you didn't seem to notice at the time, which makes me very excited about your reaction to the next episode, because I really hope we get to see that realisation hit and that moment of 'oh shit, they literally...'

We saw him putting it on in the epilogue where everyone was doing stuff back at their keep before they were summoned by the king (for the announcement that was interrupted by the dragons).

The stats for Craven Edge: +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls Advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks Drain Strength score of attacked creatures, increasing your own Strength score (returns to normal after rest) When your Strength score is increased to 25, attacks deal additional 2d6 necrotic damage What Grog/Travis didn't know because it was never identified was that it was cursed. And once he 'filled' it, it immediately stole his life force and killed him. Wasn't a problem for Sylas cause he was a vampire, but a living breathing Goliath yeaahhhhh, he ended up face down in the snow. lol VM had to do a bit of a side quest to resurrect Grog, remove the curse and then banish the sword into another plane. Very different than in the show.

Setting aside the fact that Craven Edge killed Grog - which I understand them skipping in this accelerated timeline - it's not that easy to destroy an enchanted item. They sent Cravy to a particular island floating in the astral plane, where it could take millennia for anyone to find it again, if ever. 'Svelte' Grog never happened, and I assume he'll pull a Hulk when he realises where his strength comes from. Of course they got Cheech for the trip scene. (I wonder if they'll bring him back if/when Vex gets that Talk to Animals spell.) Diplomacy was a steampunk Iron Man glove, I guess they had to tone down the look for legal reasons?

The skinny Grog thing is a new thing for the Animation. They had to change things for the animation due to time constraints, most work well, some work less well, but so far I've understood them all. I like the Sword's story better in the Campaign but if we're being honest they just don't have time. Also him being weak physically is an interesting choice. I feel like they are choosing to externalize and simplify a lot of things that were internal and implied in the campaign. In the Campaign we had plenty of time for emotional nuance to seep into our consciousness via the acting chops of the players and their choices. Here, they kind of have to spell shit out much more blatantly. So having a visual representation of some of the emotional nuances Grog is going through is pretty smart. (I'm not sure how I feel about it yet as I haven't seen the last 3 episodes of the season but I can admire the craft when I see it.)

And the whole mushroom trip that Vex and Keyleth went through was both hilarious and awesome, and me being a fan of Dragonball Z Abridged I immediately said “I hoped they packed their bags, because their about to *go on a trip*….”.
