Awesome, great to see you get a WR out of all this, well deserved! Was there some optimization on the Zora River swim? Would love to hear what tweaks here best the previous WR, noticed you did a setup for Forest Escape while they just eyeballed it, also one less stick on your route, so less rupee routing, that owl skip was so clean I was expecting a HESS gate clip, but I guess it's either too hard or was determined not worth the chu? OH, just reached the end and saw this implements the newer warp straight to the fight, skipping collapse cutscene is HUGE!

The river has a part where you can walk on a shallow part while being pushed by the current and it ends up a bit faster. The "setupless" forest escape is definitely faster, I'm just bad at it and haven't learned it yet. We can save time getting one fewer stick now because we don't need to make it to dodongos cavern in day anymore, in fact it needs to be night this time. The second stick was necessary time loss to ensure we could do faster overworld movement. HESS gate clip isn't worth the chu, yeah. We only have one spare chu in this route with a few options for where to use it. Optimally it would be a vine clip in botw to swim to the deku shield room, but that's also pretty hard so I settled for the hess on death mountain trail which is very easy and doesn't lose much time.

@@dannyb21892 Interesting, that requirement of it being night gives me MM first cycle vibes, so there'll be an upper limit on how fast the overworld movement needs to be, I assume that's why the 1 less stick is preferred now, to reduce the rupee route

Yeah good eye! The business scrub top flashes at the origin point of the map basically every time here. Easy to try yourself if you just walk backwards to watch it while leaving the room!

Do you think each console should have its own category? Since theres multiple console exclusive glitches. Like N64 ganon no srm its own separate category from GC ganon no srm and wiiVC ganon no srm

Personally I think since each console has such varying strengths, and the meta shifts constantly with this game, it's nice that they are all combined so it's easy to see what console is best for each run at any given time. It's a contentious topic tho, many people feel as you do!

yep! the warp-anywhere version of the new glitch is gamecube only. VC is limited to only a handful of destinations.

Curious why getting killed is faster than save warping in BOTW?

Save warping is very slow on GameCube due to the extra menus for selecting vanilla vs master quest. But even on wii, dying is faster. Not really much of a "why" to it, it just takes less time haha

@@wassup353 I think that route through the well ends on a skulltula token, so the extra time required to move toward quick sources of damage makes the save warp faster. But given access to quick damage, dying is usually faster.

Nah cuccos haven't been in the Defeat Ganon route since 2015 actually haha. The previous route got the bottle from the GIM glitch in deku tree.

I smacked it myself already, and will continue to do so! It was a wr when set, which is important to track the history of the category in my opinion. Especially fun because it was my personal first time with record in this category, and nearly all the strats used were ones I came up with myself. Hardly pointless to be accurate and proud of a cool accomplishment.
