You're not foolish, you just trusted the system. Just learn the rules, learn how to play the game and learn how to say things the way they like them to be said and learn how to respond when they try to trick you and you'll be fine. You got this 👍

Glad the information is helpful. But don't forget, the previously denied letter in this video is only for people who have been previously denied. Don't use this at your initial evaluation. Use the EH or SEH justification letter on my webpage as a script, don't send that to the counselor, use it as a script to defend your entitlement. Make sure your opening statement is from video # 25 and you should be good 👍🏽

Oh my gosh, I've been watching and studying your videos for weeks now and I finally had the opportunity to speak to my counselor & I explained to them how my current job is exasperating by service-connected disability; I refer to an my disability increase in same. Long story short, I am now moving forward with the process after speaking to my counselor for the first time! This is for my Masters!! He tried to gaslight but then I had to fix there language as they tried to put words in my mouth. I cannot thank you enough.

I'm sorry you were denied. But don't forget being denied because you already have a degree is not a valid reason. If working in that field, exacerbate your SCDs because; for example, you can't sit for long periods of time cause of hip knee ankle issues - you can't watch a computer screen due to dizziness - working with #'s gives you migraines etc. Then you can say that field is no longer suitable and you can propose that your new field will be better for you.

hopefully you watched video number 25 to tell you how to present your case via an opening statement. If you’re not 100% sure why you are entitled and you want me to take a look at it, you can email me an explanation as to why you think you’re entitled (based on the three entitlement criteria). If you feel like you got flustered in some areas and you don’t really know where you went wrong, make sure you reach out to me. But either way, they previously denied letter should really be all you need. I shut my Facebook group down last month but the letter scrolls at the end of video # 39.

So far, I've watched two of your awesome videos: this one (39) and number 36. Today, March 26, 2024, I feel frustrated because I was turned down. The reason given was straightforward: despite having a bachelor's degree and numerous skills, I was told my qualifications would get me a suitable job. However, I argued that I couldn't get a job because of my previous work experience (which I wouldn't delve into). I tried to explain that my current degree and skills don't align with available job opportunities, especially considering my military background. I retired from active duty in the military and received 100% P&T benefits. Unfortunately, I've been unemployed since September 2023.

Sorry to hear you were denied, I'm sure that's disappointing for you. However, you can reapply. Based on what you've shared with me, I can understand why they denied you. There's a little dance you have to do in these meetings with about 80% of the counselors and if you don't know the dance you can/will be denied. My suggestion is make sure you meet the entitlement criteria per video #16, make sure you know how to open up the conversation per video #25, make sure you have the EH/SEH justification information from my website in case they try to deny you, make sure you look at video #3 so you know how to reject the standard attempts at a denial, video #37 tells you how to present your case for a degree and video #36 tells you how to get what you want when they still continue to say no. Not sure why you wouldn't delve into your previous work, but that would've been a red flag for them. If you really truly meet the criteria, just study up and try again and you should do much better next time.

I watched all your videos like 8mo ago,, went prepared... Then they denied me on a whole different level. I passed all the tests. 70% and half way through my degree. They approved me and all that ... But they said I have to step away from my degree and join a work study for a year to prove I can be a good employee due to my rating,, ptsd.. then and only then would they possibly consider me for the college program. And no I didn't take the offer. Not stepping away from school. But here I am again looking to reapply. This organization has no oversight by the government, they get away with anything. These interviews are like a parole hearing for criminals.

I’ve noticed that’s a new trick that they’re pulling on people when they come in prepared, they want to put you in some kind of work program. Looks like I’ll have to make a video about that since these types of games are being utilized more often now. The way to get around that is to justify your likelihood of success by showing that you have been successful in school. It’s not really a whole new level of denial, it’s just another avenue. They throw things at you to knock you off of your game. The thing is, any attempt at a denial when you know you are entitled, is just an excuse. That plan is completely illogical. The reason you’re entitled is because you cannot obtain suitable employment, so what sense does it make for you to get a job that you know for a fact will exacerbate your SCDs, and do that job for a whole year to prove that you can go to school when you’re already in school. And all you have to do is argue the strength of your justification and whittle away at the stupidness of their justification. Present it to them as the stupid option it is and then ask them, is that what you’re saying? Are you telling me you want me to stop school and do a job that you know is going to exacerbate my SCDs just to prove that I can go to school when I’m already in school? Is that what you’re saying? And then if they have the gall to say yes (which they won’t) you ask them where that is in the guidelines and ask why they created a guideline that doesn’t exist for the purpose of denying you? Are they trying to make your SCDs worse, are they trying to cause you to fail? Use the tactics in video number 36 to kill the stupid suggestion.The mere fact that you’re in school and you’re being successful shows that you can finish school. I will put together some lines for you guys and make a video in the future but understand, this is not a whole new level, this is just a different level of the same games. Take what they say, throw it back at them, show them that their thing doesn’t make any sense and then reiterate why your thing does make sense And keep doing that until you wear them down instead of letting them wear you down.

My VRC and I just completed occupational packet and I am set to receive full tuition for the remainder of my degree! A year of jumping through hoops jeesh. But I been through worse.

I have 10%, and the counselor I had said he denied me solely because I have a master’s degree in business and administration. He said I was overqualified, I overcame just by my education level alone.

@@londonblair9137 only you can decide if it’s worth it to you to appeal but your chances are inordinately slim because tinnitus is not considered debilitating. People work jobs for 50 years with tinnitus, so they just simply do not believe that your SCDs are so severe that they keep you from obtaining or maintaining work.

It's about whether or not you can obtain or maintain work that will not make your service connected disabilities worse. Your presentation has to establish that you cannot....... therefore, you need VR to help you. Make sure your previously denied letter covers all those points and make sure you send it 24 hours before your next initial meeting NOT any sooner than that because it will give them time to dismantle it.

NTV and fellow vet/service personnel: I've enjoyed a VRE interview of which my interviewer states she'll need my last two termination letters from my previous employers; beginnings of pandemic and midst of pandemic. I've never encountered such a tall ask previously. Furthermore, he wants the transcripts from my previous degrees to include my AS/AA/[2014/2015] and B.S. Notably I've exited the program in 2019 [pandemic] prior to completing the original BS. The entire list appears bizarre, perhaps the parameters of changed since 2019 but I've never presented termination letters from employers 12-24 months prior to meetings. VRE reps claims he needs them to make determination.

Nik. I used Chap 31 and got a degree prior to the giving me a 100 percent rating. I got a geb biz degree but havent worked for 17 years. Ive gone to alot of interviews and now proven my SEH. The counselor called and said I need to volunteer as I have a degree. All O asked was to attend a certificated class for med coding and billing and they are trying to deny it. Any words if advise. They are holding my depression against me. Ive been stable for 7 years. What to do?

Video #25 tells you what opening statement to use if you meet the entitlement criteria and have a degree.Video #15 tells you how to argue your entitlement if you have a degree (and meet the entitlement criteria). Video #36 tells you what to say if they try to deny you. Once you've watched those you should be good. But if you have questions that were not addressed there, reach back out. Get proof that you've been stable for 7 years. You don't have to volunteer anywhere if you meet the entitlement criteria, she's just being difficult.

Hi Nic! This information is truly a Godsend! I do not have a Bachelors, just an associates. I am looking for a more sedentary job, as my current job I'm going up and down stairs, moving things and inspecting things. I wanted a job in cybersecurity, so I enrolled in this VA sponsored course called VET TEC. I received 3 certifications, but still cannot find a job in that field. All the entry level positions want 2 yrs experience (not entry level IMO). So I want to go to college and at a minimum get a Bachelors in cybersecurity and maybe a Masters. My question is, should I already enroll myself into college before applying to VR&E? Thanks in advance.

hi, I can’t tell you what’s best for YOU personally but in general, If you’re going for a masters degree it’s easier to get approved for that masters if you’re in the program already. But if you’re just trying to get a bachelors, it’s just as easy to get approved for it without being in school as it is being in school. Just based on what you’ve said in this comment, I think that’s enough to get you entitlement. Make sure you look at video # 25 to Present it properly and also look at #37 in case they try to say your associates is “enough”, it certainly is not enough, video # 37 should be able to help you re: how to respond in case they try to say it is. I think you’ve got this this👍🏽

I was denied after a 15 min phone call meeting because the counselor didn't even attempt to use video. Although I was twenty years in law enforcement and unable to do anything in that field because Im rated 100%, I was told because I have a real estate license, that doesnt make me any money and makes my SCD worse, that I had overcome based soley on holding a license.

If your service-connected disabilities affect your ability to maintain or obtain employment then THAT is a vocational impairment. 3. If you do not have the education or training to overcome your vocational impairment then THAT is an employment handicap

The references are not lining up under the new VR&E program? M28C.III.C.1, 104, b- is not lining up. I do not see Ch 1 - 104-b. I can see the 2020 version of the reg but the link in the VA site just says that it was rescinded. Does anyone have the new references? The part that I am trying to verify is challenging the counselor to not deny based on the rehabilitative path that I want to take. " I also have to request that there be no attempt to deny my entitlement based on the rehabilitative path that I want to take. I pulled the document up and checked all the references and they all still match up. There is no M28C reference to what you’re looking for regarding not denying someone for their path. The reference I made for that scenario is for the duty to assist, which is a duty to find entitlement for you and not just stop at one hurdle.

I had my initial meeting over a week ago. My VR&E counselor stated she would get back to me in a few days and I haven't heard anything back from her. I'm 99% sure that means I'm denied. Should I reach out to her or wait a few months and reapply?

they have 30 days to inform you of the decision but if it were me, because she said she would follow up in a few days, I would email her to follow up and if I didnt hear anything in 30 days I would email the VREO. But I feel confident you’ll hear something within 30 days.

I was prepared this time and used everything I learned from your videos and emphasized the term "not suitable" every time she suggested a job for me. She called me back an hour later and found me entitled. Thank GOD for you and your videos. I have my next steps meeting next month. She asked about my G.I. bill. Does this program take my months and money away from my G.I. bill?
