False advertising and bad marketing. Played it last year before it leaved gamepass and was blown away. There are no words for it, the freedom in gameplay is amazing and shows how important good physics are. Everything in this game is so well crafted, i love Arkane since Dark Messiah. And with the 60fps boost i will buy the Mooncrash Dlc and give it a try.

Dishonored 2 had technical problems, but Prey was pretty much perfect - a few bugs, but performance was excellent. It should've been called Psychoshock or Neuroshock though, had nothing to do with the old Prey franchise.

I refere to these as 'Arkane' games, just like with 'Bethesda games' many aspects are familiar but package as a whole is hard to describe in few words and different enough from the rest. Not that 'immersive sim, stealth-action, story-driven wRPG, artistic, atmospheric bla bla bla' would be a disservice, just cumbersome.

Easy solution for Dishonored being in french: You just have to download the game via the US store. When Dishonored came out Bethesda didn't ship the english language options in certain territories - germany among them. So the version released in germany only included the german, french, spanish and a few other european languages. Which confuses the console when you have it set to "english" - because there is no english language option in the game. Instead it just reverts to the standard, which seems to be the french language option. If you download from the german store (which I guess you did) you download a version of the game that simply doesn't have the english language files. I had this exact problem when the original Dishonored released. Thankfully, you can just download the other version with an easy location change now. Was a huge problem back then when you HAD to import the retail copies if you wanted the non-terrible english VO.

Agreed the S/X are doing things that I wanted to do on the ps4 and XBone. They’re old games but it’s so nice to play them at 60 fps! It brings great value to the new consoles and gamepass. I just hope the new games can stay at 60 fps, or if they can’t, give us the option to reduce the resolution so we can get a higher frame rate. @Yentag SPOILERS: I'm curious to what you mean, what's so bad? I just finished my first playthrough on hard with survival options turned on. Only human mods installed. With Weapon upgraded fully things became a lot easier but that was pretty late in the game for me. Some self imposed restrictions are needed in games like this.

Dying light I played a lot on ps4 pro but in the expansion I gave up. Driving the car at high speed at 30fps is just painful to watch. My friend got a PC and loved it but I'd rather they just patch it on console. Borderlands on ps3 was horrible too. I love Borderlands 3 for ps5 it's so smooth

Prey was *insanely* optimized on PC. I ran it briefly on my PC downstairs with an 8-year old quad core and Rx 480, and it flawlessly held 60fps~ at 1080p maxed out. It was massively better optimized than the console editions.

Prey is a godlike game, i´ve played it last year and it was one of the best immersive shooters in years. Last time i was so amazed by a game was Half Life 2, i´m not kidding. Dishonered is also very good, the second game and DotO are masterpieces. Do yourself a favor and try them all.

Fallout 4 wasn't that great and had a bad dialogue system, but it was good overall. Except for that, I can't think of any remotely bad game that BGS made. FO3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Morrowind, etc all are amazing in their own ways. Yes skyrim isn't as good as Morrowind or Oblivon, but it is still a great game that still is better than many games. And now, unlike greedy zenimax which always wanted money, it is owned by MS which is also greedy but atleast are treating studios really well(atleast now). And yes bashing Bethesda, or memeing about how Skyrim is sold 50 times to different platforms(cough cough nintendo remasters, minecraft, etc) or 16 times the detail is something most people still do, including xbox fans from what I've seen. They never considered bethesda to be the best studio(atleast the rational ones). But they do have hope that Bethesda will make great games, and that's nothing wrong to assume that.

I definitely consider graphics a lot more than I used to, and it makes me notice flaws a lot more often. Like the shadows and frame pacing issues in Final Fantasy XV on ps4 were never an issue when I first played it, but now they’re painfully obvious. But it also lets me appreciate games more, like how The Last of Us 2 runs so well while you barely even notice the optimizations like shadows and LOD. I have to look so hard to see any flaws in it, which to me, makes it a perfect game (graphically).

With this FPS Boost, Microsoft is giving us the feeling like I’m changing my PC, I mean when you change your PC for a new and better one your games normally get better too, but this kind of thing never happened before in the world of consoles. For me this is a great revolution for this consoles generation and makes Microsoft so avant-garde in terms of consoles. I always loved more the approach of Sony for the games and consoles, but Phil Spencer just continues to show us how big and important Microsoft is becoming for game’s industry. Good for us passionate gamers :)

Just this weekend, I've started re-playing Pray in 4k@120fps on a modern PC and, oh man, is it transformative. Only an occasional lack of texture resolution reminds me it's a past-gen title. And the loading times... 3:11 John voices my exact thoughts - I barely found it in myself to finish the game on ps4 back when it launched.

I just finished Prey on my One X with external SSD to bring down the loading and I had a great time. Felt the game was smooth and didn't notice any input problems. Just upped the sensitivity a bit for more fluid aiming.

It's nice that console gamers get to experience these games at 60 fps. That's great. One of the many things I look forward to when upgrading my PC is to go back to those demanding games and play through them with higher graphical settings and higher framerates which makes for a better overall experienced. I played through Prey a couple of months ago on my PC and it's such a good game. The ending was great and I highly suggest anyone that finishes it to wait until after the end credits for a mind blowing moment.

@QDOM Bioshock 1/Infinite were meant to be immersive sims, but both times they were nothing more than linear shooters with superpowers and audiologs. Prey is the proper immersive sim and Mooncrash DLC is exactly what Ken Levin is trying to make with his next game.

Arkane studios are absolutely incredible and Prey and Dishonored 1 & 2 are some of the best games I've ever played (I played on PC). Dishonored 2 in particular has the most brilliant 'level' design I've yet seen - I played the game through 10x with different approaches and perks, and every-time I found a new route or solution to a situation. Mind blowing tbh. Such a sad shame that Prey and Dishonored 2 kinda flopped. I only hope that Deathloop is also brilliant AND does well. I hope being under MS now makes their future more secure! If any dev team's games deserve to be supported, its Arkane's.

YES. I'd even go as far as to say that this is the most immersive world I've seen. Arkane's environmental storytelling is second to none, and clearly much care was poured into making Talos I feel like an actual place where people once lived and worked. I could gush about this game's world for hours, but I'll spare you :)

Those loading time on dishonored are amazing, going from 40 seconds to 1 sec. Man thats awesome, can't wait to jump back in. Absolute game changer.

As someone who primarily plays on PC these features are not new to me. I do however appreciate that others are now enjoying higher frame rate and all of the benefits that come along side it. More games and better features is a wonderful thing.

Prey was such a great game. And, ironically, I remember being pretty mad that it wasn't related to the original prey. Yet, in retrospect, it was the system shock homage I didn't know I wanted, and it was just great.

Given the time it was first released, I suspect that Dishonored is not a very multi-threaded game, hence the 30 FPS cap on PS4 and Xbox One. The massive uplift in single-threaded CPU performance between Xbox One and Series S|X might be a big contributor to the insane improvement in terms of loading times as well.

I must say, I think it is amazing that these games are being brought into the spotlight. They didn't sell well and they deserved SO much better! Amazing games! And I am really happy that MS offers things like FPS boost, hopefully more people will experience these gems. Unfortunately it is kind of bittersweet... although being a super nice upgrade for XBOX Series owners... well, with a GTX1070 you can play Dishonored at 4K120fps. o_O
