The mimics are in blatant violation of conservation of mass, why worry about little details of human physiology? And if we're going that far, why not try going through the nostril? That wouldn't mess up your eye. Or at bare minimum, have the game recognize that no one is going to be able to safely inject their own eye. Between hand shakiness, differences in eye structure between people, and innate reluctance to stick stuff _in your freaking eye_, I'd imagine that having some kind of fully automated system do it (ideally with anesthesia, or at least hallucinogens) would do better than making you point at your own eye and shoot.

Timothy McLean because it's pretty symbolic, at least in my opinion. It's showing that you need to blind your self, or change your view/perspective, in order to move forward and survive. Like in prey, the world around you is changed so much that your life is suddenly in constant danger now. And the only way to survive is to stab your eye, change your perspective, and adapt to this new hostile environment before it kills you.

It's actually based off of Mimics in D&D, which mimic the appearance of a mundane object (most notably chests, but can be anything really) in hopes of you getting close enough to let it eat you.

So I grabbed an identical glass, filled it up to the same level, and hastily made a "not a mimic" post-it note for one of them. what I think is gonna make this horror game stand out from others is that in other horror games you are clearly shown what it is you're supposed to be afraid of. The zombie people, spooky monster, odd thing that hides and hunts you, and so on. In this one you are told "literally anything in this game could try to kill you and we know how gamers hunt for supplies. Good luck."

Fun facts: the design of the Telepaths and Technopaths you encounter later on is based on the design of Beholders from Dungeons and Dragons. Mimics also draw their inspiration from this source, although they're not based on appearance as much as what they do. There's also a character sheet and dice in the security office in the lobby, along with a note in the cafe that mentions game night.

A highly disturbing detail is that I forgot what work station it was but there was an email someone sent to that person that said they were sorry for not holding out longer and that they could not take it, they are going to commit suicide and then the words garble indicating he already offed himself and the garble writing was his deceased corpse sliding down the keyboard.

My fan theory for this game is that it is set in the future of Skyrim - the nords still fight the oppressive Aldmeri Dominion, and so make a space station (called Talos) to set off to Aetherius and prove to the damn elves Talos is up there.

I think they should have done more with the eye problem. I think it would be a quite interesting if the character killed lots of monsters, but then his eye heals and he realises that all the monsters he had killed were actually innocent people. It would be a nice twist to the story

My theory is that the whole station is trying to purposefully turn people into mimics, that would explain you being put in a room empty of everything but a chair to "mimic"
