Hey delirious about the grounding resistor. There is a few spots in the game with open electrical panels that you can put them in to power up something. (Like the Power Plant Hull Breach)

Jamie Boon neither of the pistols were upgraded, so it didn't matter which one was recycled. One of the stun guns had an upgrade, but delirious recycled the one without the upgrade. So he didn't waste any weapon upgrades :)

Probably they get confused by the D-Pad Symbol on the top left on the weapon icon in the inventory as an indicator that the weapon is upgraded.I guess that D-Pad Symbol just indicates, that you put it on fast-select.
